Question - Kissassist stopped working?

So I was using KissAssist Macro earlier just fine. I log in a few minutes ago, run the mac and nothing happens. the script runs through the checks and acknowledges my main tank. But when I pull mobs to them they dont cast, buff, attack nothing. they however do understand the /camphere as i moved them out of range and they ran back to it.

Are they invis? If so, they won't do anything until it wears off. Other than that, idk what the issue is. KA is working fine for me.

they are not invis. i can't get them to do anything at the moment. not sure if it helps, but i am unable to open the EQCB server when I right click the MQ2 icon. I even ran the update, still not working.

KA doesn't require EQBC to run, but it does help and is encouraged by most. Best thing I could suggest would be to move your ini files for your toons out of the folder they're in and make new ones. That may fix it.

That is odd. I copied the old ini files to a new folder, deleted the old ones, did a /mac kissassist, let it run through , then /mac end. didn't create a new ini file.

Search for the ini by name? Sounds like it is looking for/making/loading the ini in a different folder than normal.

The KA reactions you describe are when KA makes a default ini for the first time. It has basic functions like camp, but no Buffs, DPS or such.

I've tried calling the ini by name. still acts like theres nothing there. I've even copy, deleted, re-pasted back the file. nothing.

Yeah it sounds like the folder you keep moving stuff from isn't the folder KA is using for ini storage. /Release/Macros ?

Did you try searching for your ini? You may find that KissAssist_Name.ini is appearing in a strange folder. Also check for KissAssist_server_Name.ini as KA sometimes makes that version. I have no idea why, but it could be using MQ2/Release/Macros/Macros or something like that. I had a similar issue with MQ2Nav plugin making a nested folder for meshes and I had to manually move them.

Do you get a "file not found" error for EQBC? That could also indicate a directory change when Vanilla updated or something:
but i am unable to open the EQCB server when I right click the MQ2 icon

when i do a file search for the ini. only one ini file comes up, and it shows its in the /macros file. I even created a new toon, ran the macro and searched for that ini file, none existed. I don't think my KA is pulling up any file or creating new ones. Logged into my cleric ran it with never running KA on her before. I get a message [MQ2] Version Mismatch detected, writing aliases this can take up to 1 minute.

Mismatch is when the KissAssistVer=# line is a different version than the KA you're running. It may also run that if its making a default ini.

If you restart the cleric a few times, without moving any ini, does it always give the alias re-write message or the no ini found message? If it is changing it's message, then it is somehow find the default ini, so it's saving it somewhere. If the message never changes and it keeps trying to make a new one, then somehow the folder is messed up. Maybe the "write" ability is locked out on it or who knows.

I'd try a reboot. If it still fails consider re-installing Vanilla in a new directory and then copying over your MQ2 and KA ini files.

Thank you EqTrader74. when I ran it on my cleric, i searched just the name.ini I found that something had changed, and there was a new folder somewhere else that was writing the files. I had them in the Very Vanilla/Release/Macros. Somehow they were being sent to the MQ2/Release/Macros. When I copied and pasted over to that folder, everything started to work once more. This was incredibly odd.
