Question - KissAssist Crash Issue

Sorry if this is the wrong section. I wasn't 100% sure where this question should have gone.

When using KissAssist in a group, my characters will crash upon accepting rez. I thought this was an issue with RezAccept so I disabled and deleted it, but it still continues to happen. This isn't an issue when I'm running KA by myself and need to rez, only in a group with others running it as well. If one account crashes, the others do too.

Any idea on what could cause this? It's not really a SUPER big deal but it is agitating!

UPDATE: I seem to be crashing for no real apparent reason at all now. Just being in a group, MQ2 will crash when using KA.

Are MQ2CastTimer.dll or MQ2AutoSize.dll in your MQ2 folder?

If so, try deleting them. If you're using RedGuides Updater, don't forget to uncheck them in settings so they're not added back next patch.

Yes, they were both in there and are now gone. Will update upon death!

Still crashing on rez.

Sounds like you have an item in buffing that is crashing you when you try to click it. Like when buffing after rez.
Could also be a custom UI problem please make sure all of you I are patched in EQ. Do you have a custom UI?
These are usually the main 2 causes of eq CTD.
If you are using mq2eqbc unload that and see if it still happens.

Who is rezzing and who is crashing?

I use default UI and the crashing happens the instant I accept rez, before any buffing has started. My friend's Cleric is the one doing the rezzing but whichever two of my characters he rezzes, they both end up crashing.

Going to unload that file and see if it still happens. Thanks for the quick response!

Can you paste any information on the crash? Sometimes the offending plugin is listed.

I wouldn't know where to look for any crash info. It just happened again and the only message I get is MQ2 saying it's blocking information from being sent about the crash.

Did this just start happening? Was it this patch or just playing with your friend?

A thought do these toons have holy/downshits in MQ2Melee?

It's been happening for like 6 or 7 months. And it doesn't happen to my friend. And no, not in MQ2Melee.

Can you die with mq2 loaded and see if you crash while accepting a rez without Kiss running

Even without Kiss running I still crash. Which file are you looking for exactly? My KissAssist file for my Characters? Or the Server file?

Your ini file is very sparse, especially the aliases. I assume that's your dumbed-down ini file, since you're trying to find the crash, right? I see you don't have the plugins required for KISS.

Have you updated EQ recently? i.e. run the launcher without patchme or MQ2?

When the "eqgame.exe has stopped working" window pops up, sometimes (not all the time) it will have some useful information, like in this instance:
Screenshot_1.pngScreenshot_2.png

I get that window when I run WinEQ2 at least, dunno if you get it with normal EQ. If you want to try it with WinEQ don't forget to run MQ2 as admin.

I keep EQ up to date consistently and I will keep a lookout for the problem details next time I crash. I don't ever remember it showing up but that could be because I was blinded by anger from the crashes!!!

There is a specific way to debug as well but its involved I will write it up tonight. First thing I would do is redownload the compile and just unzip it to a brand new folder. don't use the launcher or anything. just start MQ2 then rez and see if oyu crash on purely fresh install.

I just attempted to recreate the crash multiple times and was unsuccessful. The only consistencies are that I am in Rain of Fear zones and I have a full group with no mercs. I just tried rezzing in Beza a few times, with KissAssist and MQ2Melee running, in a group of 4 and had no issues. My buddy and I are going to attempt some Chelsith missions tonight so I will be able to recreate the same environment as last night and will see what I can find.

Is it possible that it has something to do with the particular zones I am rezzing in? Or an Aura buff that I'm only getting when this specific group is together, like from a Cleric or Monk?

It is for sure only happening in RoF zones and it crashes both of my clients even if only one needs a rez. The group makeup we have is Shadowknight, Shaman, Bard, Monk, Beastlord, and Cleric. The SK and Shaman are my two.
