Problem - KA Ranger Autofire on/off

If I remeber well in the past ma ranger could melee and autofire, if he has been at a distance close to 35.
Today I noticed that this is no longer the case.

Had to modify my ini and disable melee in order to prevent continuosly "Auto fire off".

Since NoS came out, my ranger has been on hold, as he is not (yet) part of my "main" team.
Today I dusted off my ranger for a change and noticed, that his dps has been very low.
Keeping a close eye on him, I noticed his autofire was continuously flipping on/off.

Did anything change in the last month on side of eq or KA, which now does not allow anymore to melee while bowing?
Did I maybe modify KA adding an error before NoS came out, and the dist 35 is meant to only allow combat abillities?
