Question - KA - Equivalent does not use class specifics

Hey All,

We are on a customized server that uses custom classes that are not original to eq. The issue is for KA that there are class specifics written which then does not allow KA to work when you have for example a Demon Hunter class which is short named DMH. My question is, are there any macros or plugins which solely look spell gem slots or abilities that would work like KA but is somewhat dumbed down and does not take into account class?

Also happy for any other suggestions that might also work.

since EQ is a game based around classes, just about everything is going to check against those type of things - like spell data to see what classes it thinks can use things or "do these warrior abilities on warriors".

MQ2Lua allows for pretty quickly designed custom stuff tho - you might consider brewing something up yourself

Thanks for this! I am not sure that I would be intelligent enough to brew something up myself however I will have a look and see if it is possible for me. Thank you for the reply!

I'm a little surprised if there is an emu out there running different classes. I would have figured they were baked into the RoF2 client and that is where MQ pulls the structs from buuuuuttt I guess if it ain't working for you that must be the problem...

I know from messing around with EQemu before spells and abilities are defined in the server database iirc so maybe classes are too... if you know what the shortname for the class is and it's literally DMH instead of SHD you could try doing a replace all on the KissAssist macro and see how far that gets you.

we have tried this in the past and honestly may need to do this, I am being lazy and seeing if there is an easier option out there. Def custom classes it is interesting though because when I load Eq through MQ2 and autologin it detects them as their original class name but in the server they have different short names.
