no dude. read the banner, set up autologin (or rather, just don't use the launcher unless you are trying to patch), dont patch unless you are forced to in the future. sorry.

it is a really good habit to:
- use autologin to get into eq
- only patch eq if MQ's date is ahead of eq's date

there's not really any good reason to be randomly going to the dbg launchpad

the banner was up within minutes of eq announcing the optional patch.

there's 0 good reason to patch for optional patches without MQ already being updated (assuming you want to use MQ)

Don't patch eq unless you don't want to VV until it is rebuilt .

Damn it all, I have been researching the DirectX 11 error, days/all nights. Did find a solution earlier this morning, ~0900.
Here goes, #1 delete all video drivers, #2 Get DDU (https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download) makes it easy. #3 Restart #4 login to Everquest -or- not, til VV is available. #5 when time, Download and install current drivers, from the Mfg. (I might suggest laptop users could/should use drivers for the laptop). Course in the solution testing I screwed myself, to wait few more days.

unfortunately no - if you've already patched EQ, we can't help you.

if *you* have another computer with the previous eqgame.exe on it, you could copy that to your new computer.

I used system restore to yesterday's date and now it works for me. But do so at your own risk.....

for those of you who patched feel free to login your toonage manually and type /testcopy than discover how awesome test is! ... you can at least feed the demon until you get a build. sorry to hear, but as others have mentioned if you always use autologin you have nothing to worry about.

I've been playing nonstop - and so have a lot of folks i know --- it was an optional eq patch, so mq still works with the original wednesday patch just fine

one time i went looking to find the earliest instance of someone saying eq was a dead game - it was 2001 (im sure folks said before it, but this was the earliest i could find) --- 24 years ago :p

while it might not be the game of yesteryear --- it *is* summer, the current tlp *does* suck, and they have been baspending --- so yeah folks prolly gonna mellow until new xpac in winter a little more than usual

Its telling who ran EQ patcher this weekend, we avg 220 in Gen chat but it was at a all time low of 139 this morning. Always have to be wary of those Fri-Sat surprise hot fixes.
