Greetings all,

I am having issues launching profiles from the quick launch option. They lock and freeze immediately, and I have to force them closed. This began after I did the "update and shut down" option last night. I have tried disabling my firewalls, running everything as administrator etc.

Thoughts?

Isn't "update and shutdown" a windows message for their updates? I would look to see if you can go back to the windows update before that one or check and see if it enabled defender or put new blocks via defender

Check that your antivirus hasn't quarantined anything with a false positive.

It is often recommended to whitelist your mq/rg and EQ folders

A few folks reported a falsepositive after their most recent windows update - which isn't super rare.

Dang, I can't figure it out. I reverted the update, and it didn't change anything. I tried messing around with Windows Defender permissions and protections, and it hasn't fixed anything.

Do you have any files quarantined?
 
pardon me if im off base here but could you possibly have suspensions right now? is it locking up at the screen right before it loads the server lists? check your acct email and see if you've gotten any hello messages from dpg.

again just throwing ideas out there as i recently did the windows update as well and am not having issues. i did catch a lot of suspensions in this last wave though

I have looked around in my Windows Defender and firewall, and I don't see anything that is being quarantined. I could be wrong, but I may be completely missing something. I am not very familiar with doing this.

I will check but it is doing it all of my accounts. I have logged into a few of them using EQ launcher without MQ up
 
It is common for windows updates to mess with options, especially Windows Defender. First, re-install all of your RG and MQ data. Then, go to Windows Defender and exclude your EQ, MQ, and Redguides folders.
