I am having a quest related issue. I submitted a feedback report and the GM stated that he could do nothing about the issue but requested that I submit an in-game "Bug Report. I was leary of doing so with Macroquest 2 running and just wanted to get feedback as to whether or not it is safe do a "Bug Report" while using MQ2...

If you don't want to do a bug report while its loaded, just do a /unload on all the toons you want to do the bug report on, then after right click on the MQ2 icon and reload. I've done a few bug reports running MQ in the background, so mileage may vary on the Devs mood that day IF there is anything sent to them saying what (if anything) is running in the background.

The couple times i sent reports from ingame, i have turned mq2 off, just cause.

But i have talked to gms in game while running mq2 so... i am not allways the smartest cookie i guess.

so its kinda up to you, do you feel safe or not?

I'd unload completely then report away...better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.

i dont report, or petition
just cause u turn off mq2 when you do it, doesnt mean they start looking from that moment on, I imagine they have to check logs, maybe go back and see what was going on , they dont know when u turned off MQ.

Fair point there too, thanks D.

Thanks all for input. I think I will just wait for the next server reset/patch and see if that fixes quest. The same quest worked fine a week ago on another character...

I personally just sent in a similar file with mq2 and isboxer running. These programs are allowed for usage in EQ on most of the official servers. The GMs are well aware we use them. Just no Warping/AFKing and you'll be fine. This is my mindset at least and I've never had any negative GM reactions yet.

If you plan on a server like Aradune, however, don't send them any proof you found a way to bypass sever security and use MQ2. In fact I urge everyone to leave servers like Aradune alone if they use MQ2. Let single/duo boxers have their manual server in peace.

I don't think you mean crash dumps, but definitely do not send crash dumps.

Also, "tolerated without active policing" is not the same as "allowed" although they do look similar.
