Like many of you I multi-box and control my mobs with in game hot keys, and this has worked great but I never get the most out of my toons because its hard to control them all. I usually box, shammy, cleric, monk, ranger, mage, leveling bard for CC, or have another ranger or BL for DPS. My Monk tanks he is my main and has 12k+ hps and 2300+ ac unbuffed and awsome gear, maxed aaxps. However I am hitting mobs where my monk is getting chewed a bit fast and I want to automate some of my other toons so I can get max dps from them. Where should I start this learning curve. I have never used a macro to control my toons. I know many of you may be very wise in the way of toon macros and I would like to learn, and go to the next level. I have very well geared toons all 70 and Ang+ geared 1.5 or 2.0 (took a few months off from work when I moved) my play time is limited now so I am multi boxing a lot more, and had to leave guild due to lack of play time.

Goals:
1 learn to macro control my toons, I have 3 machines and use WINEQ paid version

2 want to be able to call my toons to me for use in instance, there are a few mobs with knockback procs that I have yet to beat. I know there is a macro out there that can do it I am VIP to MQ2 so I know they are out there but like many I am code/compiling impaired. I know for this site pulling out of MQ2 VIP is a no no so I will not go there, but is anyone here willing to put me on the right path to start learning how to do this? red cent to who ever helps me. I just to be able to get the most out of toons, I worked hard leveling

Thanks again to you all, for keeping EQ fun for us time limited guys who don't have time to sit for 2 hours trying to get a group.

Peace

I'm not 100% sure what exactly your asking. It could go two ways

1) you are trying to learn how to macro a particular instance

I'd look here to get a good idea on how to do macros yourself Macro Tutorial

or

2) Looking for Macros to use while you play so that all of your characters are utilized 100%

Well from the VIP boards on mq2 shambot is probably the best shammy macro out there it does just about everything slows/dots/heals/canni/panthers

I'd also take a look at autobot from the VIP forums

As for your other toons I'd look here Redguides Listing of Confirmed Macros for macros that other redguides members have done.

I hope i answered some of your questions.

As far as Macro controlling your toons, I can say that I have seen automation macros for the Monk, cleric, shammy, ranger, and even mage I think. (as well as a couple bard ones)

The only fully automated char macro i Have personally used is the Rogue Helper. But you can try these ones out.

Cleric Macro:

Shaman Macro:

Monk Macro (doesnt look like its meant for a tanking monk, but it's something):

Ranger Macro:

Mage Macro;

Once you have the macros you like I would suggest you load up EQBC, then on your main toon make a set of hotkeys that will send various command to the other toons.

Say you were playing the monk and boxing the shaman/cleric and ranger,

once mob is pulled you need it slowed, so you would:

/bc 'Shaman's name' //assist 'monks name'
/bc 'Shaman's name' //cast 'slow spell'

then you want your ranger/mage to do his thing, and if your using that macro, just command him to start it up and get going.

/bc 'Ranger's name' //mac whatever

Then have a key for your cleric to heal you as needed, ect ect ect..

/bc 'Clerics name' //target 'monks name'
/bc 'Clerics name' //cast 'heal spell'

Never boxed more than three this way, but it works very well for when your tired of switching windows and wasting time, its just like having a bunch of cool pets, in fact, some of my hotkeys looked like this:

/bc Cleric //target me
/bc Cleric //cast heal
/bc cleric //g Healing you, master!

Screw all of those macros, go to the MQ2VIP section and get either Autobot or Modbot. They are universal macros that can be complicated to set up, but play the game as well or better than most people.

Thanks guys, my issue is not knowing how to compile them ( computer coding impaired), for starts so I am limited to what I can find already compiled. But thanks for the info it give me a direction and plenty to look at. Thanks for the replys! You guys rock

You don't compile macros, you copy them to notepad and save them as 'filename.mac' in your macro folder.

then while in game type:

/mac macname

and when you're done type

/endm
