KissAssist wasn't made to play with mercenaries, and it especially wasn't made for merc tanks. That said, I've found a way to make it work.
Normally a merc tank will ignore your puller from time-to-time even when they're near, causing your puller to die every 50 or so pulls. With the method above, the caster will draw aggro from the puller and bring the mob right into the middle of your camp, which will trigger the merc tank (and then your whole group) to join in the fight.
Tested 40+ hours now, no puller deaths.
- In-game, set your merc's role as tank, and your puller's role as puller. (if you don't do this, the merc will chase after your puller's mobs which can be disastrous)
- The merc tank's stance should be "aggressive"
- Every toon should assist the merc tank, EXCEPT one of your casters. That caster should assist the puller. (pick a caster that can draw serious aggro, such as a cleric, druid or wizard)
