If you want help with CWTN Plugins, make sure that you provide enough information for us to help you.
If you're using the EMU build and don't say that you're using the EMU build, then don't expect EMU related answer.
If you use vague information such as "My chanter chain casts" but don't say what is being chain cast, what spell group it's in, and what level is doing the thing, then expect that when we do respond we're just going to ask for that information. We can't read your mind.
Try to provide as much information about the issue as possible. "I'm chain casting "XYZ", only during combat. It only happens when I'm assigned Main assist. If I duck and spin in 3 circles it doesn't do it anymore etc.
Things to do before posting your issue:
- Read the posts before yours in the thread. If you ask a question that was answered in the response above your own question, I'm probably just going to link you to the answer directly above your question.
- Please make sure to post in the discussion threads if you are posting about a specific class/plugin.
- Read the stickied threads. If you ask a question that is in a sticky thread I'm probably just going to link you to the sticked thread.
- Check out the commands tab of plugin overviews. If you ask a question about a command that it's in the commands list, probably just going to link you to the commands list.
- Check the FAQ tab. If you ask a question that's covered in Frequently Asked Questions. We're going to link you to that because it's asked so frequently that we've made it a point to document it there.
- Check for any red message from EQ as to why xyz is/isn't happening. This is INCREDIBLY useful in tracking down an issue. We're not magicians or mind readers, unfortunately.
- There is an entire guide created so you can find the information you need/want and in the order recommended to view them in > Getting Started With CWTN Plugins <
- If you think something is being cast or used that is something we say we don't use, please provide a screensnip of the CWTN class plugin output showing it is using the ability.
-- if it is not in that window then it is very very very unlikely it is a CWTN class plugin doing it
--- this might mean an mq2react, an mq2posse, an mq2say reaction, there are dozens of different things that might be doing something.
- If you are asking about a specific spell - tell us the specific spell, and use the name and level.
- If you are asking about something like spells in a memorization fight, please show us a screensnip of that happening in your mq2enchanter ui window
We want to help, and we go through a lot of trouble to make all the information available to users in multiple formats (text and videos in most cases). When you get a response that is just a link, it's perceived by some that we're being "rude".
It's not meant to be rude, it's meant to direct you to the information you seek. Just because we don't type the answer out every time doesn't mean we're not responding with the information that answers your question. It's just not a personalized response.
Not being personalized doesn't mean we don't appreciate each and every user who decides to purchase a plugin, it just means we have other things we're doing such as working on new plugins for you to use and if we spend all day typing out every response we'll have no time left to get anything done. We do make every effort to correct any issues that are found with the plugins as soon as we're notified and can identify the cause of any such issues.
[Posting Videos / sending us links etc]
If you post a video that has toon much information in it, it will get deleted and we won't watch it. The vast majority of the time we don't want to see a video, we don't want to watch your stream, we just need the information we're asking for above. Sometimes we might ask for a vid, or a snip, or more information, but we'll take it private then.
[Creating "Work Arounds"]
Sometimes the answer is "create a LEM", or "run a concurrent Lua script. Not always. Sometimes you're going to cause yourself, us, and anyone you share your workaround with, way more headache and grief.
[Emu]
Emu specifically is "minimal support" for many/most things because each EMU is different, and many emus modify eq to be differently than it was (and is), unfortunately, we're not going to cater specifically to each individual emu server. you kind of "get what you get" outside of crashes.
Unfortunately, there is a trend where a substantial amount of time will be spent trying to help someone, who ends up getting nasty and insulting with me or Sic in PMs,. We are just 2 people and we take a personal interest in directly handling any and all issues we can. It gets very frustrating being insulted or having our time wasted by not being met "halfway". So please help us help you. Keep the insults for someone else. It is pretty sad this has to be included here.
CWTN & Sic

This shouldn't even have to be posted, but unfortunately does.
Things not to do:
- be shitty/toxic
- - just because this is the internet, and perhaps even because you paid for a license doesn't entitle you to treat sic/cwtn like garbage
-- you are not always going to get what you want.
- throw a hissy fit when you don't get what you want
- shitting up threads because you're unhappy
- - post something actionable, and follow the "civility" rules for RedGuides that say "Read, comprehend, reply. In that order."
- Think that "no" means "maybe i should keep repeating myself"
