I have never tried to multi box but I want to try out the new progression server and figured I'd give it a try. Can someone point me in the right direction? Also, what class's would you recommend? I was thinking monk/shm or mage/enc necro/enc

Mage is the highest dps because of pets. Im going pal mage dru enc might go 6 but not sure. Just remember how HUGE haste and mana regen are so enc is a must. Druid for ports/sow and heals/dps. Mage is primary dps and the pal can tank/heal self and rez someone if they die. I might throw in another mage and cleric just not sure.

The normal compile will probably work on ragefire so you should be able to use kiss (i tested kiss on beta for a few hrs it works).

Ok I'll get kiss when I get home and try it out. Is it pretty easy to set up? Im not looking to do anything crazy, maybe 3 at once if it's not to hard.

Hi Mate, I don't want to be one of the dicks that just post a link but.. there's a whole sub forum here dedicated to it.

As for classes think about what you will enjoy playing the most, or what you want to get out of it.

Maskoi has said he dosent think it will work to well on ragefire as it uses extended target window functionality.

Spend a bit of time reading the stickies and you will be sorted.

I'm coming back to play on ragefire for a bit but dont plan to use MQ2 at the moment, you should be able to 3 box fairly effectively without any extra "aids" but having a healing macro that runs your druid or slows n debuffs the mob from an enchanter makes things allot easier, but nothing you cant do manually with some frantic clicking and alt tabbing.

Personally I well be going mage (due to OP and never played one), Druid (again never really played one) for porting utility and buffs etc and an enchanter for CC, debuffs, buffs etc. I am tempted to add another mage in the mix for shits and giggles.

Xtarget UI is not functional but the data is still there and that is what kiss reads so unless they stop sending the client that data kiss would work as if nothing changed. Like I said I tested it on beta and it works even ran it in hunterpettank mode for 5 hrs after getting some help and adding a level con section so it would not pull red cons.

They have said they will not support the server though so if something doesn't work do not expect help from them.

Thanks for the info guys! I think I'm going to try and set it up for a druid healer/ buffer/ teleporter, enchanter for dps/ buffs/ clarity and I guess a mage for the pet. I really wanted to play a monk but maybe I'll just make a twink monk later.

Sounds like a good plan mate.

Thats good to know Will, I will have a play once the server is live etc.

Dont AFk bot or anything though, try and make it look like your botting simply because there will be allot of people around especially until vellious is up and running. Just take your time and enjoy the experance, start groups with your team and meeting people. Best thing about EQ is the social side of stuff. Well Early EQ at least.

You have to remember 2 things about Ragefire.

1. Its going to be crowded. Lots of people have been waiting for this server.
2. IT'S A SMALL WORLD. Antonica, Faydwer, and Odus ONLY. No instances EASY TO GET SPOTTED.

If I was going to make a 6 box crew...

Shaman, Wizard, Enchanter and 3 Mages.

OR

Cleric, Enchanter and 4 Wizards.

Remember PBAE groups are the shit until after Kunark/Velious.

Currently I'm working with the following:
Monk - Main, puller, tank
Cleric - Obviously healer, crucial armor buffs for monk
Enchanter - Mez, haste, clarity #winning
Druid - Ports, extra heals, minor dps, main snare character, SOW
Dual Mages - Obviously DPS (damage shield is kinda nice too)

I started out by getting all my characters to freeport, went to the lowest populated one I could find to avoid attention and just killed orc pawns and crap until level 3 or so, then found which orc pawn spawns directly toward commonlands from the main gate. (it's actually slightly right from the gate if you're facing the gate looking at the zone line to commonlands). This orc pawn has a chance to spawn as a centurian. The respawn is like 10 seconds after the pop dies. Really good EXP until 5 or 6.

At 6, I went to the commonlands. This was brutal. Felt like it took forever to get to 11, at which point I moved to Sro.

In south ro I killed crocs and crap around the beach until 15ish, which I could have killed other things in the commonlands (orc camps), or other camps in north ro.

At 15 I moved to orc highway (it's basically the area around the lake (the oasis of marr) in the northern part of south ro. park your butt anywhere around the beach of the oasis (preferably the north or west side of it) and murder anything that is walking around.

At 19-20 I moved to Ocean of Tears, and went to any "/pick" that had undead island empty. This place was epic. Every skeleton is indifferent con, they will never social aggro. The gargoyles do, but they drop phat money lootz (their eyes are 10p a pop). I stayed here as long as I could, left at around 25.

At 25 I moved to MM and farmed in the little cubby on the map that's just west of the courtyard gates. I'd pull every mob from near the entrance and all the mobs inside of the courtyard. Good loot drops here too. This can take you close to 30, you can easily move deeper into MM, and form up near the castle entrance as well, there are 2 camps there. This will easily take you to 35+ very quickly.

This is where I am at now, currently looking for the next spot. I didn't start this with the intention of being a guide, just as a point of reference to others.

From what I'm gathering, the only places left to really get EXP are inside of cramped dungeons. Normally this would be fine, but on Ragefire, the trains are REAL. I tried my best to avoid dungeon zones as best I could for this reason alone. 'Corpse runs' are the worst without POK!

Once I get 50 I'll most likely drop the subs on at least 3 of my boxes. I love grouping with people, I just hate waiting in LFG and want to level NOW.

Btw, pretty sure I grouped with treehunggindruid the other night in Uguk :P

As an update to my previous post:

Level 30-35 you can kill spectres in SRo. Avoid goblins because they root you, unless you're okay with that. Don't afk here. People WILL come by (pet classes) to farm them as well, for their weapons for their pets. Druids also come to try to farm them.

32ish-37 you can also go to lower guk and move to the minotar/live side. No one goes there. EXP is really good because of zone wide exp mod. Even the rare light blues at 36 were giving pretty good EXP.

After that, kithicor forest might be the next best place, as no one goes there.

So do you guys this ill be ok on rage fire using /stick only? I mean id love to heal send pet and slow etc from my warrior but i dont want the ban stick

Also, nice post etheral
ive been trying to find a good lvl 19 spot..hhk is packed with no instances, oot will be perfrct. I tried the gobbys hc one of em conned yellow...horrible idea that was

it's hard to get banned honestly unless you're AFK. You can even use kissassist. I do. It's not perfect but it works.

As most people have trouble leveling past 20 here are some tips:

20-25 do skeles or better yet do low level goblins on oracle island (skeles are always camped so not as fast)
25-30 Mistmoore but Splitpaw is better.
30-37 Splitpaw
37-48 Seafuries. This is single handedly the best camp in the game atm, i made about 15k plat just in gems in a few days plus i got JBoots for all my toons. This is permacamped however on weekends and nights, try the mornings if you can.

Rocking teh undead and got the best xp since well cb tr

But it is populated. Someones on the island always so go to the otherside. Preferably the gargoyle area like stated above i made some money's

I actually went 4 box with 2 sets of what you said up top. monk/shm/mag/enc and it seems to work out pretty nice, some hickups here and there due to mobs running but there isnt much i havent been able to kill. at 15 my group has killed a few lvl 22 named
