This post will explain 1 way of doing fully AFK exp with KissAssist and give a few suggestions for decent camp spots.

Requirements:
In order to do AFK exp, you will need to be able to keep the group alive, and tank/dps the mob.
  1. You need a minimum of 3 characters depending on level
  2. You need as minimum a character with some form of pulling ability

Group Setup:
Personally I use the following group setup: SK, Mage, Mage, Cleric Merc x 2, Wizard Merc, but any group setup where you have a tank ( Can be Tank Merc ), cleric, and a puller ( puller needs to be a real character ) will work. Rest just need to be able to DPS down the mobs fast enough for keeping the mob cycle clear.

I almost always use 2 Cleric mercs, just for the added safety and because between 2 mages and a Wizard Merc, DPS is not an issue. As your not going to be around when they EXP, it's a good idea with the additional healing, as accidents and trains will happen at some point.

Setting up the group at camp spot:
Using my group setup above, the characters would be configured as such:
SK: KissAssist Role=PullerTank, with range 200
Mage: Role=Assist, Set assist to the SK at 98%
Mage: Role=Assist, Set assist to the SK at 98%
Unsuspend all Mercs and set stances:
Cleric Merc: Effecient
Cleric Merc: Reactive
Wizard Merc: Balanced

Main thing in setting up the group is that you will have 1 character pulling, and the rest supporting either the tank or PullerTank. You can use a bard/bst or other for pulling and have a warrior box tank the mob when it enters camp. In that case you would use KissAssist Role=Puller instead of PullerTank. Any group setup is doable really, as you could change the tank class out with a Tank Merc, and go with 3 silk classes.

The thing to remember is that you should be able to keep the camp dead within the respawn time of the first kill, to minimize the chance of getting an ADD.

Finding a good camp:
Finding a good AFK spot is not always easy, but there is usually a few in every zone, depending on amount of EXP you will accept, and especially how good your group is. The better geared/aa count group you have the easier it is to find good camps for AFKing.

In general try and look for the following:
  1. A low population zone
  2. Mobs your group can handle confidently
  3. A cluster of mobs ranging from 6 to 9 (Optimal range: 200) depending on what your group can handle, but 6 should be okay for all

Camp Suggestions:
I have marked a few camp spot in CoB and Windsong, which I have used and know will work. Be aware that on some of the marked locations a named can spawn, so be sure your AFK group can handle it. All camps below have between 6 and 9 mobs available, which for my taste is enough, and gives a good safety margin, where the group will med to 100% before the spawn cycle restarts again.

I actually went to the underquarry for the double experience, and went from just dinging to 96 to 2 yellows in 99. But thats killing 6646 mobs during that time as well... I found a sweet spot after my bst dings 100, and my SK gets 100 Ill share it with ya.. LOL

but there is 1 semi decent spot on the map, that has a ton of mobs in a small area and its in a cave :)

setup is generally, my beastlord, whos been my main since 01 my SK, and my monk.. with 3 cleric mercs, but i swap out a cleric merc for rogue merc alot..

I have just gotten the SK geared up enough to be able to tank VOA/RoF stuff, so the 3 clerics were really useful at the time.

I did say I would post it, and forgot sadly LOL

but here is a great spot if you are 95~100
its in the underquarry, I know the pic is kinda hard to see I am sorry! but this spot has about 30~ mobs in it damn near

Ha, that's the spot I was using in there. It worked so so with a geared level 90 tank, and trash geared level 85's. In the end I settled for plopping down in the middle of the void bloodfields and hoping my enchanter doesn't eat it till it gets broken in.

LOL, yeah I was using a 95 ranger, 98 monk 99 sk and 100 bst in there, but thats what levels they got up to in that spot, would sit SK in the middle up top with lev, and have him as puller.. headshots make things go down fast

I've been experimenting with Mech Guardian. It repops, but you almost have to use mq2navigation with waypoints setup for pulling. Otherwise you end up with like 9ish mobs every 20 minutes

I've been doing regular underquarry lvl 88- 100 for awhile with my team, its some great cash/exp but there is an inherent risk of being discovered in this non instance zone.

So how dangerous are non instance zones? I've noticed my SK is a lot more natural looking than my bard. Both are pullers and the difference is the snare that parks the mob just prior to death. All my toons pause KISS when anyone gets close. I've got it set for 1000 now for the zone I'm in. I just started the AFK thing and it's got me spooked but I need the xp/aa's bad to catch up.

I've been afk-macroing for months, usually overnight when there arent many people online, and ive only had one close call--at rof release, a gm sent me a tell, presumably to see if i was botting. luckily i was near the computer and replied to him. Other than that, i havent had problems. when i check my characters in the morning, i just review any tells they received and followup, letting the other person know that i was 6 boxing and must've missed their tell in battle spam, which is realistic.

The next version of Kiss, 5.7 has MQ2Posse and Anonymous Heros AFKtools integrated with it replacing the current basic AFK section. Its Much better and robust since you can define a friends list.

Allows you to use your own toons out of group with the new AFK Tools.
Pauses the macro when a Stranger, someone not on friends list enters your defined AFK Radius.
New GM actions Off, 1 Pause Macro, 2 End Macro, 3 Unload MQ2, 4 Quit Game"
