hi again all im at a loss ive spent the whole day trying to get this to work my first setup is 3 casters 92 mage who has pet tank 85 mage nuker and 89 enchanter. Ive triedd everything they all target the tanks mob but do nothing ive tried using kissassist even tried to break stuff to get it to work. may main mage attacks like normally with my using it but the other 2 toons just sit there. I even tried the mimic me button and still they wont cast or send pet or even use same numbered spells i used but they follow me nicely.

hi all so far this is excellent, my enchanter still will not mez mobs when 2 or more come, everything works good so far is there a way i was watching sics guide, is there a way to (almost like sic i think) setup an area for a camp to pull too so my toons dont chase me and i can pull to that spot?
also having an issue my toons wont med when they get low on mana

3 questions in 1.
  1. enchanter, cant answer as require more info. As said earlier, details from the kissassist ini file, details of spells loaded into gems in game.
  2. camp pull spot - yes
  3. sitting on low mana - yes.


Camps n pulls.


Have you played with character and merc, and noticed they follow around. The merc stops to follow, when the role "puller" is assigned.
The location for that is the spot stood in, when the puller role was given.

Similiar requirement for kissassist.

move your characters to where you want to make the camp.
Then broadcast to the group, the instruction that this is the camp spot.


That actually tinkers with a property, "ReturnToCamp", at run time whch is also present in the ini file.
Speaking of the ini, I also like to have this in the [General] section.
ScatterOn=1

That is to help have characters spread out a little bit, behave more people than robot like, when they are back to the camp.
With that turned on, they should go and be several feet of the spot, but good odds they wont all be standing on top of each other.

if you are putting it on the macro buttons, to "make a camp" button, then I would further suggest ensure chase is off.

Mana and meds

As @Saffron mentioned, there is the med properties in the ini file.

These are how mine are ( and it is same for mana and endurance, so use on casters and melee )
kissassist ini, [general]:

start and stop, are when the code will react and look to med, and consider finished medding.


For a while, I got thrown by "medcombat".
I actually thought it was a good idea to have turned on, but since noticed issues and so now always have it set to 0.
Why?
When I sit my puller / tank down, I want those who are <90% mana/end to also sit and rest.
That only happens when "medcombat" is 0.

Its written about in a post i made a little while ago, here.
I had read the code of KissAssist and did some tests.
Cant say if its by design, or a feature, but setting it to 0 has the desired result.

if you have 20 / 90 defined as start / stop, the character will look to enter "med"mode when go below 20 and come out of it after 90.
Ive mixed experience of what happens when in "med"mode if another character then starts to fight. Often, no support from the "medding" character.
( queue stories of olde days; med break - hold pulls! )

if you sit down on the MA, (and medcombat 0 is set in the ini file!), you are kind of "forcing" med mode to start. Any char below 90%, will start meedding to 90.

hi again guys very good info ive managed to fix most thing from info you guys have given how do i make a hotkey that will make a spot a camp so group stays while i pull to it and then exit camp and hunt so group moves with me from location to location?

Gettng news spells

You get the spells from the spell vendors. They are in your bags, and when you are of level to scribe them, you click and they go into the book.

How to use them, you decide which spell gem you want to put the spell into.
If already occupied unclick what is already loaded and put the new one in, either by the spell gem menu system or by click n drag icon from spell book.



Thats internal game mechanics that you should be familiar with.



Making new spells available, to KissAssist

With regards KissAssist ini file.
You stop the macro running, /end.
You edit the ini in your chosen editor, e.g. notepad.

Go to the appropriate locations and change the spell info over.

e.g. upgrade of Minor Shielding to Lesser Shielding
you find the two lines that have defined minor shielding and change them to lesser shielding.

Before:-
caster ini before:
[SpellS]
Gem1=Minor Shielding

[Buffs]
Buffs1=Minor Shielding
After:-
caster ini after:
[SpellS]
Gem1=Lesser Shielding

[Buffs]
Buffs1=Lesser Shielding

Save the ini file, and restart KissAssist macro in game.

If it is a heal spell, then you would detail the spell Gem it is in, and amend the "[Heals]" section etc.
Similar train of thought for DPS spells, for Mez spells. Look for the category the spell falls into and amend accordingly.


In this context, KissAssist needs maintenance by the player when levelling up and getting new spells available.
If you were to use plugins by CWTN instead, that isn't required. You buy the spells, have them scribed into your book and the plugin has built in code to decide what to use per level.

KissAssist by its nature, is meant to give player control of choosing and detailing in the ini file, what the player wants to do when and how.

Well, that is a two piece question.
  1. Hpw to ,make a hotkey
  2. How to do camp spot

A hotkey, macro key, social key - whatever you want to call it is made the same way.
It is an EQ mechanic that has nothing to do with MQ2, VV, or KissAssist.

the 4 basic steps.
  1. issue the hotbutton command in game (abbreviate /ho ) to create it:
    ho-1.jpg
  2. the new icon is made and on the cursor
    ho-2.jpg
  3. place it on the action bar wherever you like
    ho-3.jpg
  4. right click it, to open the edit window.

There you have 5 lines of text in which to put whatever you like.
You can also rename "mykey" to whatever you like as well.

In an earlier reply about camp questions, I gave a couple of commands.
Here they are typed into a hotkey.

When you have the commands, the text, written as you like - click "Accept".

Later on in game - whenever you press that button (formerly, "mykey" now "Camp On!") it will issue those two /bcg commands.
