Question - Help searching .ini library

I am unable to find the search tools by following the instructions found here:

I wanted to post something to assist newer users with finding the INI library, and how to search for INI's that might be good for them.

First things first, you'll need to navigate to the INI Library. To do so you'll need to click on the Resources tab at the top of the Redguides page.


Next, you'll need to select the .INI and Configuration drop down on the left side of the screen. Followed by the "KissAssist .ini Library" link.



Which will bring you to the following search box, and populate the left hand side with the "Top Resources" for the section...

When I follow step by step, the drop downs that made finding specific ranges of .ini in support of kissassist no longer appear for me. I am following the directions step by step.

I have searched the forums for the following; ini change, ini library change, ini index search change, kissassist ini, kissassist ini index, kissassist ini library, kissassist search, kissassist search ini, kissassist search change, kissassist search update, ini search update, kissassist search ini library update change - and none of those yielded new directions that I am missing.

If this has changed and I am missing the obvious, please any re-direct. I am not posting to waste people's time by not doing the initial searching myself.

Share KissAssist character config (.ini) files here. One .ini per post. If you're using the standard (not modified) KissAssist, please make the ini as follows: 1) Type "/plugin mq2kisstemplate load" and then type "/maketemplate" to create the .ini 2) Paste the contents into the description...

Then look for the "Filters", it looks like this:



You can use CTRL+F in your browser to help find it. Click that and you'll have all the options you need.

Hi Redbot.... Well I just tried out the KissAssist.ini area. I like the way the filter works but might need a little more explantion on the main area to help find the Filters button. Knowing how I mess things up all the time, I did just what Charlie did and yep got confused and how to find what I was looking for. I saw the filter button and figured oh well might as well try it.

Also what is the difference of the two areas? Old Kissassist.ini and I guess the current version of Kissassist.ini. If the spells are the same and only the Kissassist version is different, why make two areas? Example: Cleric level 40, Nothing under the new or regular Kissassist.ini, but under the old kissassist.ini the spells are the same just the kissassist version is old.

Now you got me wondering if I need to make some lower level kissassist.ini for the current Kissassist. Oh well anyway go have some fun and leave the updating to Sic and others....

The old library just had that filter option as the main landing page. Site redesign messed with that a tad. I fell for it the first time as well.

I am guessing you are looking at this list?



The outdated version ini files were just uploaded at the time when KA was on older version so they have some outdated formatting or section titles and could cause issues if you tried to copy them verbatim. Everything pretty much works the same you just have to format them with the newest version layout. Follow the base instructions to create a new KA ini by running KA when there is no INI file for that toon you will get a blank placeholder INI that you can copy pasta the spell names and skill names and other conditions but don't copy some of the other base data.

Thanks RR. I kind of figured that was what happened. Guess I will go and look at all the old kissassist.ini files I made and update them. Might even add a few things that I should have done back then. Any ways thanks for the info.
