Question - Help getting burn section to work

Hello,

I am attempting to get the burn section within Kissassist to work. I have my spells/skills that I would like to use on named mobs listed in the burn section and have it adjusted to burn all named what else should I be doing?

Thank you!

Burn is activate in 2 ways. You can put the name the of the Named in the kissasssist_info.ini file under the zone or you can do it manually by creating a hot button
/echo BurnPhrase

Ill assume you are one of the two that "share" beasts domain with me. And Iv had the same problem. My problem was that I had two entries in the kissassist_info.ini file: [Beasts' Domain] and [beastdomain]. The first is inactive and probably the one you have added Tanglebrush and Strangletwist in. After I added the named in the last entry, without the "'", it works.

/cheers

[beastdomain] is correct. I recently fixed Kiss and zones with ' so delete [Beasts' Domain]

We do hunt in Beast Domain from time to time. I have the mobs added to the correct area under the mob to burn and I also have burnedallnamed=1 but my character is still not burning when a named comes. I'm sure I am just missing something small.

Rich (BB code):
[grelleth]
MobsToPull=List up to 25 mobs. Can be partial names Example: rat,snake,bear or ALL for all mobs
MobsToIgnore=NULL
MobsToBurn=The Forgotten Murderer

Rich (BB code):
Burn]
BurnText=Decepticons Attack
Burn1=Fundament: Third Spire of Divinity
Burn2=Harmony of the Soul
Burn3=Focused Celestial Regeneration|MA
Burn4=Divine Guardian|MA
Burn5=Divine Arbitration
Burn6=NULL
Burn7=NULL
Burn8=NULL
Burn9=NULL
Burn10=NULL
BurnAllNamed=1

Anything incorrect in these sections?

P.S. What server do you play on alcoholen?

Burn2=Harmony of the Soul
Burn5=Divine Arbitration

I would not put these in burn. It will kill the group because you won't have a Holy Fuck heal to save your tank.

what i have in my clerics burn section by no means complete.
Rich (BB code):
[Burn]
BurnText=Decepticons Attack
Burn1=Celestial Regeneration|Me
Burn2=Celestial Rapidity|Me
Burn3=Celestial Hammer|Mob
Burn4=Divine Guardian|MA

[grelleth] not beasts domain lol

Thanks for the heads up on the skills. I just pulled the forgotten murderer and still no burn not sure what to do from here.

Make sure its working normally first. Type in /echo Myburnphrase and see if it activates

ok its best to put the named in the ini file under the zone. Burn all named is kind of a catch all. Everquest uses a certain naming scheme for mobs and MQ2 and kiss use this to determine if its a named. BUT of of course EQ doesn't use this on all named. So Killallnamed might not activate because of that

I added the name to the ini file and I am still not getting it to burn for some reason. Is my burn section missing anything by chance?

Im on Antonius, Ylarik.

Check if melee identify the murderer as a named. And if so, maybe you can /echo burn it from holyshit?
Bored at work on my phone...

I currently use holyshits to get my SK to burn so have not tried to burn section on my SK. Below I post the ini file for my cleric. Thanks for all the help guys!!!

I have always had irregular results with my cleric burning even when all of the rest of my toons would burn just fine. I haven't messed with it since the new BurnAllNamed section though. I added good downshits and they seem to work decently. I posted a guide HERE if you want to play around with them. Once you make one it becomes really easy to whip them up for the rest of your toons.

Rob

I just put burn stuff in as holy/down for mq2melee you get more freedom doing it and they work consistently. ${Target.Named} can return a false positive on some mobs but its better than nothing at all. I recently converted my entire zerker and rogue macros to just holyshits while using kiss as the macro and they work perfect.

Thanks for the link Kcrobk. I went in and was able to create holyshits/downshits without any problem for my SK but when doing it for my Cleric I get an error when running the ini file through. When I look at the ini file that it creates after running the macro in game it does not list the macros. Also, the Disc section is grayed out (still has a check mark in it) when I go through and am attempting to convert the ini file to the txt file. It seems that my cleric just likes to cause problems.

In your MQ2 folder is another .ini. It should look like this servername_toonname.ini Povar_Phattytank.ini for example.

If it doesn't show [MQ2Melee] in it somewhere that could be your problem.

Your KISS Ini has several burns that don't have a Mob/MA/Me/ or pet tag on the end. I'm not sure if that defaults to something in particular, you might want to add it just in case.

Rich (BB code):
[Burn]
BurnText=Decepticons Attack
Burn1=Healing Frenzy
Burn2=Celestial Rapidity|Me
Burn3=Celestial Hammer|Mob
Burn4=Fundament: Third Spire of Divinity
Burn5=Focused Celestial Regeneration|MA
Burn6=Celestial Regeneration|Me

Burn1-6=Spell/AA/Disc/Item|Target Mob/|MA/|Me to use in the burn event.

Other than that your ini looks fine to me, I don't see any problems with it.

It looks like mq2melee does not appear in that ini file (only see the mq2 rez). I typed the /melee command in game for the cleric and it shows as if mq2melee is enabled is there a way to get this adjusted? Shows a 1 for Plugin and melee

/melee save did add the mq2melee to the ini file but I'm still running into the same issue when attempting to use the holyshit builder.

Lol my bad! I didn't understand what you meant earlier. Sorry, I've only taken a peek at the builder, I've never actually used it. Just copy some downshits from the boards and use the guide to make your own. It's really easier than you think it would be.

Here is my clerics

Rich (BB code):
downshit0=/if (${Me.CombatState.Equal[COMBAT]} && ${MobCount}>2 && ${Me.AltAbilityReady[Healing Frenzy]}) /alt act 8500
downshit1=/if (${Me.CombatState.Equal[COMBAT]} && ${Target.Named} && ${Me.AltAbilityReady[Fundament: Third Spire of Divinity]}) /alt act 1472

I really haven't tested it thoroughly as I don't play her very often, but you can use it as a template, just look up the alt abilities you want to use and put them in the order you'd like them to go off.

Thanks a ton kcrobk! That should be a great start for me and i will simply just need to move the skills around thanks!!

Hmmmmm... for some reason the downshits are not triggering on named mobs. Not sure why my cleric is having so much trouble.

OK Guy's I am no expert on Holy or Downshits, but shouldn't he be using HolyShits for when in combat? Reading the MQ2Melee DownShits are for when NOT in Combat.

HolyShit and DownShit

MQ2Melee now supports up to 20 macro command lines of each that will be executed when one of the following conditions are true:
Holyshit:
Commands will be executed when in combat, no casting going on and the cursor is free. Downshit:
Commands will be executed when not in combat, not casting and the cursor is free.
When setting these commands, you must be careful not to fall into an endless loop or create a spam war. Make sure that when your line finishes, it will set up something that will force it to be FALSE for a while!

I have never tried setting up /melee holy/downshits for my casters, So I wouldn't know what works of not. I am just wondering.

Holyshits only work when you are in "Melee" combat. If you are standing back casting they don't go off.

Hey ylarik the next time you are in game can you post your Servername_Toonname.ini for me so I can look at it? Type /melee and make sure your downflags are all set to 1 as well.

I noticed that within my KA ini file if melee=0 then it will not trigger the downshits but if I adjust it to 1 I notice the cleric attempts to actually walk up and melee but the downshits actually work any ideas on how to stop her from going to melee? (I am NOT referring to the above ini file with the downshits in it)

How frustrating! Everything looks so good. This sounds a little crazy and might take a second, but you can try renaming your current KISS ini and then load your character in and run KISS so it will generate a fresh new ini for you. Then cut and paste your buffs, dps, heals etc into the new file. Change all of the other settings to match your old ini file and give that a go. I know it shouldn't be any different, but twice now I've had to do that to get a toon to work properly. Everything you have setup right now looks perfect to me so I'm kind of at a loss for ideas.
