Question - Having MA switch targets mid fight

Hi all,

I play on a progression server and am running a group of 6. I have gotten everything sorted out so far in the 3 months or so of using Very Vanilla. However, I just tried a camp where I get two mobs that are not mezzable. I have been trying to figure out how to have my MA warrior switch back and forth between the 2 targets to hold agro on both. Since Area Taunt will only work once during the fight firing that didn't help. I searched the forums and found a post talking about a /switch in game command. I hot-keyed this and figured problem solved. However, nothing happened other than a "switch target" notification in the MQ2 window but target wasn't switched in game. I even tried pre-targeting both mobs with the MA prior to pull so MA would have 2 targets to switch between. No luck. I went back to the forums and did more searching and found a post to use a /end hotkey and manually re-target the other mob and then hotkey /kissassist to restart program. While this works, albeit very clunky, since I need to switch back and forth multiple times during the fight it really isn't workable for my situation. Can anyone point me to a post or manual that would address this problem, keeping in mind that if the solution is more than settings in the Very Vanilla area I will need back ground knowledge of where in the program to look and what changes there will do. I have not yet "opened the hood" on this program since my computer skills are rather limited but am willing to learn and play around with it if given good instructions. Just don't want to mess with a very nice and helpful program and in my ignorance screw it up for myself.
Since I have your attention I have one other issue I have been unable to find an answer for. When I do have mobs that I can mezz, is there anyway to set a delay between the death of the first mob and before the MA breaks the mezz of the second? Thanks in advance for any pointers on how to approach solving these two issues would be greatly appreciated. Especially the first one as that appears crucial for some situations I will face.

Thanks,
AnotherJohn

Shadowfall,

Thanks for the response. I have loaded up Auto Warrior and taken it for a short test drive. It seems to run better for me than MQ2 if I don't have CC. MQ2 seems to work better for me if I can CC. So I can load one or the other depending on the situation. Thanks. Follow up question on Auto Warrior, I noticed it burned Area Taunt right off the bat when 2 mobs were pulled. It also used Bellow to get agro and I would rather it used Berate. I searched around the forums a bit but was unable to find a Manual or anyone talking about how to customize Auto Warrior. I noticed it created a AutoWarrior Configuration file but very little in there to play with. Is there a way to add preferences there? Or is this a set program that needs to run as written?
Thanks again for pointing me in this direction as it gives me options, AnotherJohn

with auto warrior what you see is what you get, any questions about that i would ask in that link i posted above

Half the fun of these macro's is making them run the way YOU want them to run!
in your macro's folder make a copy of autowarrior.mac and save it as autowarrior2.mac or something, open your original autowarrior.mac in a text editor and search for the word Bellow ( it only shows up 4 times ) and replace it with Berate. If it works great! if not just delete autowarrior.mac and rename your backup and your back in business!
GL!

A lot of good info here. First, Shadowfall in looking at the thread for Autowarrior it looks like it is set to run as given with no easy way to customize it. That said it still might work if I turn off my enchanter trying to mezz when dealing with unmezzable mobs.

Second, Noobjuice yes this is an option also but was hoping to have the warrior auto switch or switch with a hot-key as I use my monk as my pulling and manual character. Having to manual both will get a bit clunky but could be a solution.

Third, Ihc385 this option is where I am going to show my total lack of understanding of how these programs work. I have been struggling but having success with just plugging information into Very Vanilla to get my group to function the way I would like. I decided to go "under the hood" as you suggested but I have no idea what program I would use to open Autowarrior. I don't even know if what I will be trying to do is called programming or coding or something else. I tried downloading and using MS Visual Studio but that doesn't seem to recognize Autowarrior and won't open it. Is there a program someone can recommend for me to download to try tinkering with macros? Hopefully free to start, will be willing to purchase a better program if I find I can even do this stuff.

Thanks all of you for taking the time and giving me a few different paths to try, AnotherJohn

for opening the macro files you can just use notepad or I recommend downloading notepad++, nothing to special needed they are just text files basically

Have downloaded notepad++ and indeed it does open autowarrior. Not sure why my computer didn't give me an option to open with notepad, wanted me to go searching online for an app... But no matter I can open it now and will start studying autowarrior to see why it does what it does and see if I can make minor changes to it using the method you suggested, ihc385. Again, thanks to all who have given me such great suggestions because in following up each suggestion and searching for the answers I have learned more.
