i find both pretty decent....try my ranged dps ranger:

What is your full group makeup now? Some classes have better cross-buffs/procs with others.
Zerker will prob out-dps either ranger/rogue/wiz given similar gear. Zerker and wiz are both very easy to run with KA. Ranger is fairly easy, but can sometime require tweaking if you want to bow and melee. Rogue might require some tweaking to work with the new "ambush" tags to max their dps. Rogue ini was previously a challenging one to do max DPS due to their mechanics and discs.

I'm just leveling a rogue now and haven't played a ranger in box group, but some tips I've read in other posts. Ranger is a nice addition for buffs to melee groups. In bow mode there are low maintenance DPS but a bit behind Zerk/Rog on output. Rogue is all about getting an ini that uses all their talents correctly. If you can keep poisons up, I think they are close to Zerk dmg.
Your best DPS will be building towards SK/SHM/BRD/BERx3 but the cleric as the healer is a little more stable if you're doing tougher content. 3x Zerk lets you run alliance for a DPS boost as needed. SK/CLR/BRD/BST/BER/BER is more endurance regen if you want to run in chain pull mode.
Wiz is nice if you want an easy toon. They don't look like bots when KA runs them and you get ports. They do better DPS if you have Ench, Mage or other Wizards as those all do group DD buffs on certain nukes, but even alone they are usually 2nd best DPS to a Zerk.

This depends on your tanks gear......cleric is way beyond what shaman can do in terms of keeping a group up imo
