Question - Getting Started

Hello all!

I've been busy reading this wonderful, wonderful forum and have a few questions and comments.

1. I installed KissAssist and went to town. It seemed to work okay at first, but medding was tricky. I drive with a bard, and have two others and pulls are frequent. I had issues with the boxes simply medding through fights, skipping casts, etc. I found the downshits thread where having your casters sit is discussed. This has helped immensely, but I am wondering: How do I make sure both characters execute their commands on every single pull? Am I looking at broadcasting a trigger phrase?

Ex. Mobs in camp, tanking all of them with a damage shield. Assist bard starts automatically. Now, sometimes the druid will do Stinging Swarm (once, as commanded), Flame Lick (once, as commanded) and snare at the required percentage. But, not always. Sometimes he just sits there. This is my biggest problem. The cleric I want to just toss a nuke once per mob, and med/heal as appropriate. He sometimes nukes. Also a problem.

2. What to do about aggro? Often times, since there are multiple mobs in camp and NOT mezzed (thanks, damage shields!), the cleric gets some heal agro. Do I just heal through it? I suppose I could have it cast Divine Aura, but that's a once every 15 minutes solution. Just deal?

3. Using other macros: How do I load a macro on the fly? Documentation is buried somewhat deep here, so my apologies if it's covered somewhere obvious that I missed.

4. I had to unload MQ2Twist because I like to manually twist on my bard, and it seemed to be breaking /melody? Is that normal?

Thanks for any help!

1. I don't follow the question--execute their commands on every pull? Do you mean to continue casting while they are in a medding phase? In that case, simply set MedCombat=1 in their INI. Otherwise, it may be an issue with your DPS settings.

2. Yes. Or get a tank, or a merc tank, or a mage. KissAssist does not solve aggro.

3. /mac macroname

4. Yes. MQ2Twist sets it's own "melodies". It's a very nice macro with one glaring defect: it doesn't ever check to see if a song is ready to be cast, i.e. its cast timer is up, before trying to use it, which makes integrating the Lively Chorus line into KissAssist a pain in the ass.

Thanks for taking the time to answer! To expand on #1:

I suppose I'm wondering why spells get skipped - too much dps? User error? I don't know how best to explain it; most battles 1 2 and 3 happen, but some battles only 1 and 3, and even rarer, only 3.

While kiss is running /kisscheck to find errors.
Post your ini file.

Check your Combatmed= This can cause your toons to stop and med till they are fm. If you set the regular med to about 90 they will just constantly sit and it helps. Then use the holyshits like you mentioned so that way if they are being attacked from sit aggro that they stay standing if they are less than 80% health.

What's the formatting on your dps settings, e.g. DPS1=Bolt of Fire|90. What's your DPSSkip set to? This is the percentage HP the character stops casting. What's your DPSInterval set to? This is how many seconds the bot waits to cast another spell. Also, for these spells, do they have a cooldown? When these "skips" happen, what is the bot doing instead--sitting, standing around, casting something else?
