I was searching google because I don't have my cd's anymore and had to restart Windows XP and came across this. It's a school giving 2 downloads (disc 1 and 2), no auth or CD key needed.

Visual Studio 6.0, Professional Edition, Disc 1

Visual Studio 6.0, Professional Edition, Disc 2

You need to Save File As.. to your disk and rename it to .ISO, .IMG, .CDR, or w/e your CD uses. That's what the instructions are, I don't have a blank CD to test this out on but it should work.

I don't know if this is legal or not, I would think so but not positive. If this is illegal let me know and I'll delete it or will an administrator/MOD delete it for me please. Just trying to help the community out.

Goodluck,

Brings you to a login page, without a userID and pass you can't download anything.

Ya I gave you all the information you need in the above page it's in order. Name, then "School of Management", then "Staff", then E-Mail. I don't know what you mean by username and pass, it doesn't ask either of those. It asks for your name and email, then what "school" your in and if your faculty, student, etc.

Do all of that and get to a page with.

Thanks for using the MSDNAA website. The product you have downloaded does not require a product key. If you have any questions, please contact us.

To download this ISO Image, click below, and choose 'Save File To Disc'
Click here to download ISO Image

Click the link and you are sent to a log in screen. Right click and save link and you get an invalid image.

https://ms-secure.oit.umass.edu/discs/ISOImages/934.iso

The 934.iso won't mount or burn.

Like I said I don't have any blank CD's to test this on. So I guess it doesnt work, I'll test it whenever I get a blank CD and if anyone else wants to test this out reply with what happened.

I can assure you 934.iso is not a CD nor DVD rip. It is only 1 kb, CD rips are upwards of 500-600 MB and DVDs 10 times that.

Pricing

10. How much will these products cost?

Effective April 19th, 2006, all Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions are free permanently. This pricing covers all Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions including Visual Basic, Visual C#, Visual C++, Visual J#, and Visual Web Developer as well as all localized versions of Visual Studio Express.

SQL Server 2005 Express Edition has always been and will continue to be a free download.

11. Wasn't Visual Studio 2005 Express initially discounted to free for a year?

Previously, we announced that Visual Studio Express would be available for a promotional price of one year. We have now extended that period so that all the Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition products will be free permanently.

12. Do customers who downloaded Visual Studio Express products before April 19th, 2006 have to pay?

No, Visual Studio Express is free for everyone.

Would one of these work?

I go to the University of Michigan, which is a part of this MSDNAA program, and I can confirm that to download software, I have to use my university username and password. It sucks, but I don't think Microsoft would just let anybody who thought to make up a fake school download their software for free. If you notice on the page that was linked in the OP, the field asking for an email address specifies that it must have a University of Massachussets email address, aka @umass.edu. Pretty sure @comdis.umass.edu wouldn't work.
