Problem - FPL Limiter config and isboxer, oh my...

Hey all 👋as I'm loading things back up after a bit of a hiatus, I'm running into an few hiccups that maybe someone else has seen before and can point me in the right direction.

I'm running isboxer to build my windows layouts. Once in game, when I swap windows with the fps limiter off. No issues. Once I turn FPS Limiter on (just background) default settings, my regions will disappear when I click them to swap. They are still running, kind seem minimized and if I do a bunch of clickery, I can sometimes get them back up on the home region but never back in their slot.

After trying a bunch of different combinations, I found that in the FPS limiter settings, if I enable "Draw ImGUI" and "Draw Game UI" swap works normal again but then I get this fast flickering when the windows is in the background and its about to put me in convulsions.. lol. I think I have clicked every button in the FPS Limiter to see if can stumble on something that works but to no avail. Below is my FPS Limiter settings after monkeying with it for a bit.

Tried also turning on and off the FPS settings in isboxer but that had no effect.

having your background windows display stuff defeats a lot of the purpose of frame limiter.

imo you should 100% stop isboxer from doing ANY frame capping, limiting or cpu management.

then decide if you really need/want to see background stuff - and if so what do you want to see?

draw imgui allows you to see imgui windows like boxhud or buttonmaster
draw gameui allows you to see your game UI - like health bars and chat windows

some of the *style* of isboxer and framelimiter are in conflict here.

I do use framelimiter, but i don't do any regions or tiling or anything like that these days, i, personally, trust in my automation to do their job, and use other things to control and monitor my toons.

not sure if this is why or still valid, but this is something brain mentioned about flickering in the past Looks like this was addressed

i want to add a framebuffer capture at some point so it can render the last captured frame instead of a flickering black screen when you have the ui enabled
they use a framebuffer somewhere for postprocessing, if i can find it and save it then should be no impact on cpu/gpu

here is my guide/overview on framelimiter
and an updated one here

my background windows could be straight up black screens :xd: lol. I used the Isboxer to organize my windows but mostly for easy swap between char, that's it.
I do have all of isboxers frame capping, limiting, and cpu managment turned off but did play around with them to see if I could line up where the conflict was but there was no effect better or worse.

yah something is conflicting. not sure what through.

I found some work arounds using my graphics card settings. I have 54 boxes spread across 3 machines so this is manageable atm. I'm getting 1-3% cpu off each instance. Still a bit of tweaking I think I can do here. In game fps limiter is the gem so I'll keep poking to see if I can find the key and post it if I do. 7tt isn't for me. I'm to used to isboxer's window layouts. Thanks all for the ideas and comments.
