Hello,

Follow Me is really messed up since last patch. Sometimes it works for half of my team but never for all at the same time. All toons are getting the # CMD:[/afollow spawn xyz and [MQ2AdvPath] Following xyz but 3 of the 5 just stand there. Once in a while they twitch as if they are going to follow but nope. Trying to finish hunter in Korsha and without follow me I can't run 6 toons through that terrible zone. /fol is a waste of time there. Doesn't matter which toon tries to "lead". Unloaded each toon, nuclear option, re-logging in everyone, nothing works. Would also be awesome to be able to reload MQ2 without at least one EQ instance crashing. Using IHCMerc on brd, shm, clr, ber, kiss on sk, other sk as main. Kiss and IHC works fine yet. Everything worked before the patch. I did the update for VV. The cler and shm are the hardest to try and get to follow, brd and ber are second worse. The sk seems to follow every time. Could it be related to IHC? Come to me doesn't do anything anymore either. Nobody cares when I press it. Mimic Me at least does things like hail, nothing else. My toons are in the same zone since before the patch. I changed zero settings before and since in the UI and settings so I didn't break it.

do you have both eqbc and dannet loaded? I've seen some other folks say they've had issues with the updates to those buttons with having both dannet and eqbc loaded
 
wait, nvm thought you meant eqbc server and plugin loaded, sorry dont use dannet
 
I have EQBC Server running as a standalone. Each toon has a macro button that has the following:
/plugin mq2eqbc
/bccmd connect

Then each toon has either a kiss button (/mac kissassist assisst (my main)) or ihc button (/mac ihcshm,cler,brd,ber). I don't run anything else.

Besides everything worked perfect 2 days ago. I didn't play at all yesterday and tried today and had nothing but frustration trying to drag toons around korsha and finally gave up. I am still pretty new to all of this so I have been trying to "Keep It Simple Stupid" like the KISS acronym. I haven't even messed with MQ2FeedMe yet even though I really want to. Until things work more smoothly and I get more understanding of what's what I don't plan on doing much more. Yesterday was a really bad day and I was hoping to escape my life a bit today. Guess I will watch Anime for now. Thanks for trying.

On the toons that don't move when you use those buttons do you see a difference in what is printing in the mq2 window? ie: extra commands, different syntax etc?

Specifically you should see a message saying: /nav spawn 5322 or some such on box 2-6. but what I'm seeing is that it gives me that, then it issues some additional commands as well afterwards, with squelch and various nav commands which effectively tell the toon to stop moving immediately after the above command says to move. This is what's causing the twitch and then stop action. I do not see it on the toon that I'm controlling and issuing the button click from, I only see it on the other toons that don't move.

I would like to try that but I have no idea how all of that works or any of the bcg stuff. It took forever to figure out how to make my simple buttons as most people talk about these commands like everyone knows what the heck they are talking about and knows the syntax. How exactly do you write the commands to do that? What I wrote is exactly what is in my EQ macro button. Please use small words and thank you.

Nearly all of the plugins that are part of VV should have a thread here that details out the command structure. They may be buried under a mountain of other posts, but a google search with the name of the plugin, MQ2EQBC, and "site:redguides.com" should bring up what you want in the first result.

If you hover your mouse over the "Follow Me" button, a tooltip will pop up and show the actual command that is used for that button. In this case, it is something like ...

/bcg //afollow id ${Me.ID}
/bcg means Box Chat Group. EQBC stands for EverQuest Box Chat. So /bcg will talk to your group, whomever is connected to the server excluding the character that you're currently playing. As you don't want your main to attempt to follow, him/herself, this is an appropriate usage as opposed to /bcga (Box Chat Group All), which sends to all in group including yourself.

However, there is also /bca and /bcaa which are similar but also send the commands to everyone that is connected to the EQBC server, even if they're not in your group. For someone with a simple setup like most all of us, they're functionally the same, but when you start to get into boxing multiple groups across multiple computers, the difference would be beneficial.

All I was saying, was that when I used /bcg, it didn't work, just like you're experiencing. But, while experimenting, I tried /bca and the command to follow went through. That shouldn't be the case, both /bcg and /bca should be doing the same thing. So when one works and the other doesn't, it leads me to believe there's a problem with EQBC and/or EQBCS.
 
because i use dannet so i've changed somethings in mq2targetinfo.ini like ComeToMeCommand=/dgge /nav id ${Me.ID} and it works perfect before the patch.but after that ,nothing happend when i click the follow me button .luckily we can have some extra hotbuttons from mq2targetinfo,so i disable the "show come to me button" and "show follow button",just made two simple hotbuttons in the game,boom,and it works again:

TLDR; right now there is a conflict with eqbcs and dannet where those buttons are concerned. You can either make sure you're not using dannet, or make new hotkeys for eqbcs or dannet.

Saffron, it seems confusing, I know it took me awhile to wrap my head around it, but from a standard users perspective Dannet will do exactly the same things eqbcs does, it just uses different preceding characters. Overall it's simpler to set up and use than eqbcs because it's fewer steps and things to do, but it takes a little time to re-train your brain to use the new syntax. Here's my cheat sheet on what dannet command to use instead of the eqbcs one if you install dannet, if you're interested:

the first image is the piece you want. Basically you use the /dg commands instead of /bc commands and don't use 2 slashes, that's all that's different for you.
 
Thank you all so much. When I get some free time later I will go through the links you all have sent and experiment a bit.

Has anyone had the crash to desktop issue like me when you do a reload from VV? Only the window I am looking at crashes. I will do it again later and post the pop-up error I get. It happens 100% of the time so it is easy to duplicate. All is fine if I am in the character screen but if any characters are selected and I am in any zone in game one and only one account will get those errors and crash.

Finally got some time to play last night and this worked. ICHMercs threw some errors but seemed to work OK. Before typing this it did not work, at least for half of the toons. Something was broken last patch. Thanks again everyone.
 
New to MQ2. Last night was maybe like the 3rd time I used it. I had one toon absolutely freaking out in Field of Scale. He would anchor in one spot and I couldn't get him to move. I could get a few steps and he'd run back ignoring me. Eventually I was able to get him to move and I was using auto follow. I then tried the follow me click button and he took off running across the zone like he was heading back to that same spot. I was trying different commands like //camphere and //stick ABC (from some lists I found on google search) but everything kept saying invalid command.

Still learning so not so sure about the whole camphere command and stuff but the characters locking into some uncontrollable pattern is frustrating, especially when I can't get them to move from one single spot which I think was caused by the follow me.

Unrelated topic is I'm not running /mac kissassist on my main character but once I hit Q it is totally locked up until the mob dies. I would think hitting Q again would shut it down but no dice. I think this has something to do with MQ2melee but I can't edit a .dll.

EDIT: I think I fixed it. Returntocamp in the kiss assist file was set to 1 on him and 0 on everyone else. Not sure how to use that camp feature but I'll look it up. Thought it was an issue with follow me but I was wrong.

yup the returntocamp can be toggled with /camphere on and /camphere off --- I have some hotkeys in my resource that I setup near my come to me and follow me buttons for easy group management/movement/camping

Watched the video, made the camphere off button and returntocamp=0, toons still won't follow. No macros loaded, nothing. Load the game, start eqbcs, hit follow me and some toons follow sometimes. Camphere off button doesn't help, the "tricks" that worked for a while no longer help, nothing helps and followme simply doesn't work anymore. I am at a total loss at this point. Everything worked great until that patch. What is broken?
 
Also, for these commands I get errors: DoCommand - Couldn't parse '/camphere off' message. How EXACTLY is it supposed to be written? I have tried =off, =0, whatever same error.
 
Come To Me does nothing, ever. Never. No matter how may times I push it and no matter how close or far away toons are and no matter what zone I am in. Might as well not even be there.
 
New temporary workaround: Main toon made a button:
/bca //keypress 1

Each toon on button 1:
/target nameofmymain
/afollow

That gets everyone to follow. /nav stop and everything else I read does NOT get them to stop following me. To get them to stop following I actually press the followme button twice, on then off. Something is really broken.

/camphere on/off is for kissassist so you need the macro running to use it - i go over that in the video sorry if there is/was any confusion
 
Also the camphere on/off despite KA running could fail to process if you've never run KA before and are using a current INI from the forums that includes the KA version in the INI as it wouldn't write the aliases for KissAssist. Simply setting the INIVersion=0 in the INI should write the aliases.

Thanks for clarifying. I only use KA on one toon and that is only until there is an IHC for SK. I use IHC on the others and melee only on the main and control all of the functions for discs and timing on them. Either way, before I load anything followme doesn't work. It DID before that patch and stopped right after. A number of people have been talking about this but nobody seems to be talking about looking into why and when it is going to be fixed. I don't code and am not buying a subscription to that site someone linked to the files to see how much worse I can make things. Maybe I need to go to Dannet? It would make 3 buttons useless right under my group window. It would be nice to be able to change those to do the same but with Dannet or just fix EQBCS. They aren't playing well with each other anymore. I tried KA on all of the toons running IHC and I get far better results with IHC than what I could find posted and modify on my own using KA. I understand KA has far more customization than IHC so I don't really want to start some kind of debate over which is better. IHC is far easier to get a lot out of without knowing anything. Think 90% or more with 1% effort and knowledge. The toons look like they are going to follow when you click followme, they twitch, but they just stand there. Spamming it gets one or more to follow but then they stop and one toon never follows, the cleric. Even the toon running KA doesn't always want to follow.
 
There is something odd with targeting data since this Wednesday's patch. I have noticed that if you have a vet aa vendor up, permutation peddler for instance, toons will not try to follow the character but rather the vendor. The same thing is happening with swarm pets. This means if you have a vendor up peeps go nowhere as the vendors like to sit around a lot. If you have swarm pets active your toons lag back like mercs like to. I am not sure if this info can help anyone in the know regarding how to fix the current issues with followme but I wanted to share it.

If I had the knowledge I might take a crack at it but my programming skills only extend to the mid 1990s. I only know enough to know it is broken. I wish I knew how to fix it.

sry some typo erro ,you right ,its /afo off,to ensure only one plugin control the move。
 
My Group autofollowing me key is:

Line1: /bcg //tar <My_Name> <--- all group targetting me
Line2: /bcg //pause 2 <-- Pause for some possible lag or game latency.
Line3: /bcg //afollow <-- They will autofollow me, i have downloaded almost all game meshes so it works fine in most static zones. Pressing the botton again DISABLES autofollow.

I never had an issue with follow, my issue was with come to me. My suggestion would be to rename your mq2 folder, and reinstall, then copy over your inis etc.

I might try that next time I have time to play. Can't hurt anything. Neither work for me atm. Mimic me works for hails but that's it and not always.
 
Mimic me screws up for me a bunch too. I don't use it in public zones except for targeting, but it usually works the first time, then if I try to use it again right away, it will ignore me.
 
Currently having small issue. Follow me works for like 3-4 hours non stop all different zones etc. then randomly 1 toon out of 6 will no longer follow. it just stops. even if i log it out and back in same issue. but if i fully log all toons and reload everything it wors again. any ideas?

I had a similar issue - and it was due to running eqbcs.exe not in high priority mode --- I now use eqbcs2.exe with normal priority and no longer have that issue, but some folks run eqbcs.exe in high priority instead
 
how do i change that? is it simple? cause i am! lol
if you wanted to just change priority you can do this

press ctrl-Shift-Escape to bring up task manager - then click details tab
go down to eqbcs.exe - right click - set priority and select high

If you wanted to run eqbcs2.exe you can just launch it from your release folder

I have reported an issue to EQMule a few days ago, so he's aware of it. Not sure what the status of it is. Basically what I saw happening is you hit follow me and the follow me command gets passed, but immediately after the unfollow command is issued.
