Anyone planning to give Fangbreaker a go?
It's ruleset doesn't really appeal to me but I'll probably log into it on day one just to create a few chars using names I don't want sullied by someone else, I can do my own sullying

cant use mq on it so probably not the ruleset once you hit pop doesnt sound so bad, the start sounds like aids though. the servers culture is going to be super karen because of the aradune ruleset. aradune had people getting suspended for that shit up to tss. just roving sos rogues recording people and reporting. i might truebox and try to make some quick kr with tradeskills but im sure everyone has the same ideas i do for quickly selling cabbage ear items so maybe not

yeah seems like they've bummed out with this server, there was a lot of anticipation for Teek but Fangbreaker is looking pretty close to DOA.

hey gang, long time no see. I got the itch again after almost a year break and saw someone on reddit describe this server as "the dad xp server" and I was like "well that sounds perfect" lol. This might be a dumb question, but since it's my first experience with Truebox I wanted to check before I messed up: it's only one client per machine simultaneously, right? Like there's no permanent machine-to-account connection behind the scenes such that if I normally play account1 on my desktop and account2 on my laptop that I can't switch that up?

Correct, only one account per machine can be used simultaneously. It doesn't matter where you play Account 1 and Account 2 from, as long as they are not loaded on the same computer at the same time for any Truebox server.

Also, Fangbreaker is a restricted truebox, so you're are only supposed to play at max two chars per person and both on different boxes.

Thanks, I think I knew that but it's good to hear it for sure. I knew MQ wasn't supported and without that, 2 (really more like 1.5) toons is about all I can manage to box haha. I pulled my laptop out today to run a healer, but EQ stresses it out so I'm starting to look at mini-PCs instead.

I'm having a fun time kicking it old school on Fangbreaker. It's been real hard getting through my brain there's no newbie armor quests to do or "good" low gear to go after, and that everyone's running around in half dressed characters like me. Biggest adjustment might be the lack of PoK though.

empty-slot is a real struggle!

in eq2 they had these quick teleporter "bells" that cost like 60silver or something, i remember selling a piece of my 2box cleric's gear to travel one time lol

On TLP the first real gear sets are the Sol Ro armor quests for certain classes. Otherwise it’s getting armor from someone sinking money into trade skills. Pretty much progression goes.

Trade skill Armor
Sol Ro Armor
Hole/planes armor
Kunark Class specific armor
VP Gear
Velious Armor Dwarf/Giant/Dragon
NTOV Gear
VT Gear

I am hoping for a TLP that lasts until live. Our current guild in SoF has over 60 active members, and there's still quite active playerbase, I don't want to jump.

This server have several things that make gameplay interesting. One is the Hunting system. Each day a number of zones receive random bonus, of xp, coin, spawn mobs. You can check on the site fangbreaker.zone. When I started to play I found it awfull, since I had already my own way/zones to level up. But it is indeed very fun, because the bonus exp is sometimes insane, reaching 300% bonus xp. So it worth alot travel to these zones to level up. This feature made me travel to zones and do xp in places that I had never went before even after 25 years.

Other thing interesting is that when you reach with one character to level máx, for example, today the level max is 50. Every char of your account receive 10% bonus xp, added to the exp bonus of the random hotzones. So I have two lvl 50 already, and all my others toons have now 20% bonus exp.

There is also a heirloom thing, since this server has normal no-drop rules, some of these itens are heirloom too. So if you have a persona or another toon in your account. For example I leveled to 50 a magician, then dropped a war sword only no-drop, lore, heirloom, I can loot it and transfer to my warrior alt of the same account via the shared bank. Neat!

I am liking very much this new server. I am playing with two accounts. One on my pc, and another on the pc of my office, in another city, using steam to stream to my own pc. So in essence It is alt tab two windows with eq. Without breaking any rules.

most every tlp has had atleast 1 guild make it to live. i think ragefire is the only one that didnt and thats because when mangler caught up everyone jumped ship. i know coirnav had something wierd to like they got told were closing your server and they asked to get swaped to selos rule set and they semi did and they just plowed through most expacs.

if youre on oakwynd i would expect 2 or 3 of the guilds to reach live. aradune was at a similar point in sof and they have 3 guilds clearing content in tol. one is struggling though so they might go down to 2 soon. rizlona has a guild who clears all content in era. mischief is only 3 expac behind riz and aradune and they have like 7 guilds clearing content last i checked. yelinak is about to get cotf and they have i think 3 guilds still. i havent checked on that server in awhile.

oakwynd is also imo a superior fang breaker i would rather have weak to medium bonuses at all times in all zones then strong to op bonuses in one zone for 24hrs.
