EQBZ Multiboxer - EQ Multiboxer: window management, hot-swap keys, MQ AutoLogin support

EQBZ Multiboxer - EQ multiboxing made easy.

An external window manager that launches, arranges, and instantly swaps between dozens of EverQuest sessions, with configurable hot-swap keys and MacroQuest AutoLogin support.

What it does
  • Launch your whole crew: one click launches 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, or 72+ sessions.
  • Automatic window layouts: horizontal, vertical, grid, or stacked. It positions and strips borders for you, then re-arranges once every session...

Sounds interesting and nice to see something new, wish you luck on this. With the EMU updates in the works, I hope you see strong raid use. 🐸

I tested this just now and never seeing it before, was able to load a team in within minutes. I will update again after messing with it more, but so far extremely clean and easy to use.

  • Fixed Global hotkeys by moving the keyboard hook to its own thread with a watchdog running to monitor it.
  • Background sessions now keep a configurable amount of memory resident (default 230 to 300 MB, set in Settings or settings.json) instead of being fully trimmed. The aggressive trim was starving the DirectX renderer, causing render glitches and a hard hitch when swapping back to a session. Keeping a resident floor fixes both.
  • Fixed vertical...

Just wondering why the $69.69 and not just a flat $70.00. So we save 31 cents. Also they doing away with the penny. So might want to change it to a nickle. Just a stray thought on the price.

Also wondering is their a trial period to see if this is something I might want to use. (think test drive cars)

We are working on a monthly subscription right now and it was priced at 99 for the annual sub but after thinking on it I felt it was best to lower the price initially for the annual sub. The closest thing to a trial would be the monthly sub that is coming soon and yes I can bump it to a flat $70.

  • Switching sessions from the Windows taskbar or Alt+Tab now stays in sync, instead of leaving the previous session's thumbnail black or showing a session in both the foreground and a thumbnail.
  • Launching sessions no longer flashes a series of command prompt windows. Per-session folders are now created natively instead of through the command shell.
  • Close All no longer freezes the app while it shuts the sessions down.

Decided to give this a try today and on EMU at least, I can't get it to actually launch the game sessions. Well it will launch but they all error out upon eqgame.exe launch with "Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt.

That file reports this. I have verified the file exists, and also tried copying it from other installs. All result in this exact same error sequence.

UIErrorLog created at Wed Jun 17 16:04:41 2026

Not sure exactly where to go from here, but let me know if you want me to test something out or you need some more advanced logging. Happy to help

i don't think this has anything to do with eqbz

here was a post with another person using graphite who had a similar issue

I am not using a custom UI at all though, just what the ROF2 client comes standard with. Yeah I know, its awful, just never got around to finding one I liked. I did try pulling that file over from the live client and the same behavior is present. Launching through MQ2 works fine, as does innerspace, so I am open to any other suggestions you experts might have.

I will test this out.

That did bring up an idea though, what if the file being reported wasn't actually the real issue. So I tried to replace ALL files in the default folder with those from another emu install. This time I found a couple of files that were hung open for some reason. Rebooted, and relaunched to ensure I still had the error, then the full copy was able to replace those two files. So it is functioning now.

Awesome let me know if you have any other issues.

Since I can't leave well enough alone, I went through and uninstalled eqbz and did a fresh reinstall just out of curiosity. Deleting the eqbz folders prior to the reinstall. The "Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt" was back post reinstall. I did a fresh copy of the entire default folder from a base ROF2 client and that immediately resolved the issue without the file locking that I was experiencing yesterday. So there is still something up. Does the installation itself attempt to modify those files by chance?

On another note, my current struggle is now to get autologin and eqbz to work together. If eqbz is out of the mix, autologin works as it should when running one or more clients from the mq context menu of the system tray icon. Launching one or more in eqbz results in the autologin reporting as not active and a weird string being placed into the username field. In my case eqbz_perky is what appears in the username. Perky Crew is the server name I am playing on (and yes autologin will not work without a space in the short name) so that string kind of makes sense. Removing the space results in an immediate kick back to the server selection screen from the character select screen which is related to the wrong short name being used.

Overall, the program is great, simple to use and setup, but I would like to get over the auto login hump. Open to suggestions but here is what I have done so far.

1. Removed ALL accounts, characters, and profiles from MQ
2. Recreated by hand all accounts, then using mq2 only, logged into character select to so that it would detect the characters.
3. Removed all of the eqbz folders from the game directory.
4. Uninstalled eqbz
5. Rebooted
6. Reinstalled eqbz
7. Relinked the login.db file from the fresh recreation of all accounts and characters.

This process resulted in exactly the same behavior as before where the eqbz_perky string is in the username and the autologin is inactive. Selecting the character from autologin works fine and does what it should so I know autologin is working, there must be an issue with the hand off between the two (related to the space in the short server name maybe?)

One last thing I have noticed is that since I use multiple desktops in Windows 11, Ctrl+Windows+Right Arrow switching between them will move the thumbnails to whatever desktop I am active on. The main display stays on the desktop where I left it. Might not be anything that can be done about that, but thought I would mention it as I know my use case is likely different than most folks.

4.3.4

Fixed

  • Couldn't assign hotkeys with certain modifier combos.** With Ctrl+Alt (AltGr) or Alt+Shift held — common on international keyboard layouts or with multiple input languages installed — the final key was dropped during capture, so the combo wouldn't save and cleared when you released the keys. All key variants are now captured correctly.
  • Re-assigning a cleared/disabled hotkey silently did nothing.** Editing a slot whose hotkey had been cleared (or...

Razzrr updated EQBZ Multiboxer with a new update entry:

4.4.0

Highlights for 4.4.0:

Split-monitor mode — active session fullscreen on your main monitor, every other session tiled live on a second monitor (Grid / Horizontal / Vertical, aspect-correct). Now rock-solid at any session count, engages automatically on launch, and "Leave a hole" marks the active session.Single shared EverQuest install: no more per-session cloned folders; your UI follows the character and the per-folder crashes are gone.Drag-to-edit layouts: click/drag/resize boxes with snapping, an "Edit Large" pop-out, and a Custom hand-edited style."Arrange All" button + Ctrl+Alt+B one press re-tiles every session into your layout (works in split and on still-loading sessions).Frame-limiter toggle (off by default).Fixes: autologin on servers with spaces in the name, Alt+Tab no longer shuffles sessions, sessions land on the correct monitor, layouts honor your row/column counts, international-keyboard hotkeys capture correctly, and several stability fixes.

Will this provide any sort of hotkey broadcasting? Just currious if that could be a thing
Not currently I believe I would have to have some type of hooks into the game session in order to do that. It can be added but I would prefer maybe to have the hotkey broadcasting as an add on so not everyone has to use it that way if they dont want or need to.

Ok, Understandable. Was just somthing I was thinking about earlier. Instead of having to flip between each account for ones we dont use MQ on to auto attack and heal so on so forth
