Problem - EQ Account stuck logged in?

Hello all!

One of my accounts is stuck in the game and I can't log in on it..

The splash screen says ''playing''

The account is not hijacked I was the last one playing on it, I did restart my PC and after that it all happen.

Any one else experienced this phenomenon and knows how to tackle it?

log in using the everquest launcher, with mq turned off, you should get the option to kick the account if its being played.

That did solve my problem.

Strange thing was that, in the game Everquest my account was not online, yet it was.

Strange thing was that, in the game Everquest my account was not online, yet it was.

one of the eq devs mentioned that sometimes characters don't "unload" properly from the game for various reasons like hanging on exit, and then the server thinks it is still logged in, even tho clearly not.

I've had a toon show online in the guild window for several days despite being offline.
