Question - Engage/Re-engage

First off, I LOVE the CWTN plugins, they make my life so much easier. Thank you guys!

So my question is about assisting. Whenever I log in and create my group, if I get jumped, none of the incoming group members will engage the mob. I kinda figured this is because incoming group members didn't get the assist message in the plugins so they don't know there is a fight going on, even if they are on assist already.

Now the same happened but during a rez from a wipe. I had my rogue use a token on my cleric who rezzed my tank. As soon as the tank was rezzed a mob came out of nowhere and jumped us. The SK of course went to town and the cleric was healing. When the chanter was rezzed she went on to do chanter stuff as expected. When the DPS toons were rezzed, however, they did not attack at all. I had to put them all on manual and attack the mob.

Is this expected behavior or am I doing something incorrectly?

hi berkz - thanks for the kind msg, cwtn and i really love making them

please post cwtn questions in the cwtn section

and your thread title i had to read a few times before i was like "ok" - i changed it.

there is no "assist message" - we don't broadcast (other than mezzing if you have that turned on), we don't send anything, the plugins are doing their own individual things and are not broadcasting, issuing, reporting, or communicating to each other.

we assist your group main assist, if we are in an assist mode to do so - when you log in make sure you are setting your group roles. if you a: are not in a mode to assist and/or b: dont have an assist to assist - you're not going to.

I strongly recommend logging out in zones where you...

I strongly recommend logging out in zones where you aren't getting jumped right away, so you can ensure you have your group set up properly. I personally use autogroup, however that isn't perfect

as far as re-assisting after a rez, you need to clear your MA's target so your target re-acquires a target, so eq/mq updates the information so we see there is a mob that the ma is fighting. > Existing conversation here < this could happen if you zone in while your ma is fighting something

Thanks for changing the title Sic. I will try the clearing target tip. As far as roles, yes that is the first thing I do when I log on.

Sic summoned it up well about logging off in a safe spot. I would just like to add, if you have not done so already, watch Sic’s videos about MQ2AutoGroup and mq2autoaccept. It well make the initial setup after login a breeze. The main tank and main assist will be set automatically after you have done the configuration.

Sic, quick question for you sir. When the plug-ins first load, is the default state mode 0 or is it the last mode used. I have never really noticed because I typically log off in the guild lobby and have cfg files set to pause the plugins in the guild lobby and POK. I did that so people don’t se my group immediately doing the “buff dance.”

Be well. Happy gaming.

the default state is the state you saved in by issuing a slash command. we do not reset it to 0 --- unless you log out with a saved pull mode, we swap the non pulling equivalent - huntertank/pullertank -> tank; pullerassist -> assist

yes many folks use .cfgs pausing on login - *we* (chat and i) specifically intentionally do not save that you are paused, and you will not enter the game paused unless *you* have a .cfg that pauses you when you enter the game
