Problem - Emu problems

This is the last day of my L2 sub, so i guess this is the last cry for help. i have been unsuccessfully trying to play on the Project Lazarus emu. i used to play years ago and had a great time.

Since then i have moved from Windows to Linux Mint and moved state with various life changes. i no longer have my emu passwords so i am locked out of my accounts, the retrieval process requires a mobile which is no longer used and i cannot change it. i probably dont want to give out my mobile anyway if im honest, im pretty jaded with the spam i get as it is.

So i tried a new email address but do not get a confirmation email to verify the account. i do get the email to reset the password of this newly created account, but its a deadend.

I also cannot get the flavortown rof2 version running properly, just crashes once i login with after creating an additional login on the original emu account. the CLI patching from project lazarus patcher seemed to work fine.

i could not get steam depot option, it doesnt recognise i own the free game even though i have hours played, and the previous options i had for the client seem a deadend.

so i am out of time on redguides, having achieved nothing the last two sub periods, and have no other options i can think of to play on Emu.

the friction just feels extreme to play so i guess this is goodbye from me.

unfortunately no one can help you trying to find the rof2emu client - that definitely sucks.

I'm not sure what "flavor town" is.

I know you said you get the email, but I know some people who didn't get emails need to click that link. Leaving in case its relevant.

If you get your account situtation straightened out, i highly recommend you pop up in the Laz discord and see if your old characters can be recovered/transfered to new accounts. GMs/devs on Laz are top-notch and take care of people.

If you are having install issues, again, a server discord is generally the way forward. Don't expect anyone (here or there) to discuss RoF2 client downloads, its piracy.

I gave you a link that forces the email if you don't get it.
Discord is accessible from the web, and is the primary means of communication with the Project Laz community (and many other communities). You do you.

I have discord on my phone and it definitely did not download a million things. In fact it downloaded exactly 1 thing - discord. So I am not sure what discord app you are using but that doesn't sound right at all. It sounds like you have some technology issues maybe you can get someone to help you sort that out and a lot of these things will be easier.

i was able to unravel the rest from there and am now logged into lazarus.


however, i found Derples response bluntly offensive and anecdotal discord experience unhelpful.

Discord doesn't download a bunch of stuff you were probably just seeing the screen that shows what permissions it needs and confused that with downloading

I think you have to not have the game installed to get the depot version from steam. I can't remember all the details though, a bunch of people got in trouble for it so it doesn't get talked about or linked much now.

As for the Lazarus accounts, you might be able to get a cheap pay as you go phone and set the number up as your previous one. Not sure if that would work but it might get you access to those accounts. Although making new accounts should work and it doesn't take too long to level and gear up on Laz, especially if you get MQ working. If you don't get confirmation email check your email's spam folder in case it went in there. And if all else fails you could use a different email. Like if gmail doesn't work, try protonmail. And vice versa.

Ahh figures they would shut that down. Glad I kept my copy, people struggle to find it now and new servers don't want people even talking about it.

On a side note, I am attempting to launch MQ2 on the EQ Might EMU, i have never played the EMU's much and am not sure how to get MQ2 to inject into the app. If anyone is around that knows how to make MQ2 work on the EMU's and could send me a DM I would greatly appreciate it.

You gotta get the MQ Emu version from here. It should download redfetch and then you select Emu at the top left. And it should install everything from there.

If i can get all of this working it might be fun to play on an EMU server where i don't have the risk of being randomly banned like when i was playing on the TLPs.

Yeah the risk of being banned was a huge downer for me. I love Emu for that. The travelto thing is tricky to get working, I never managed to get it going on the server I play mostly. Nav works for following and auto pulling, but I couldn't get travelto or easyfind to work. There is a file you can download for some servers but I tried that and it didn't work for me. I never spent much time on it because everything else works at least.

For the travelto, look for a folder in your config directory named ZoneConnections, with a file inside it named ZoneConnections.yaml. If it's not there, you can copy the folder over from your live install config folder, and that should help with most of them. For Lazarus, at least, Algar posted a ZoneConnections_Overrides.yaml, that fixes some of the ones there that are different. There may be something similiar floating around for EQMight. All of the EMU servers I've played with so far have an extensive teleport system from their hub zones, often PoK/Nexus, although they can vary, that will send you directly to most of the zones you might want to go to, which makes travelto somewhat less needed.

;rgmercs blocked on luafilesystem/lfs not loading — packageman can't install luafilesystem, manual dll placement not working

how do I get rgmercs running, i presume someone has solved this already?
