Broken Stoic has a pretty good vid on some of the EG7 news, on DBG, some video interview with JChan and financial news about Palia . Not everything new, but a nice summation of a lot of things bringing us to today and a possible future.
Some of you guys may find it interesting and perhaps hopeful. Broken, if you are one of us here, thank you for this. I will add, my estimate of EQ still holding itself (not dying) is always this community of RG, its existence and passion for people that come here and use the tools. Real fans, apart from the regular gamers, to me it shows how many people still love and play. Anyways enjoy the vid. 🐸 :eq1

ive always said, if they want TLP shit to get better, they have to deliver expansions to diffrent content in game, or diffrent encounters in game during the expansions. only some people want to steamroll content on TLP's to dick measure about it.

Given the many hours I've played EQ, figured I could give a half hour to listen to the state of the game. This is better than any recent official release roadmap (of which there have been 0 released lately). Wish the game companies could give honest reviews like this.

A 25+ year player base can be flexible, and maybe even help out, if they are aware the problems that are happening.

For the record, I wouldn't play an EQ3. I play EQ for the nostalgia of it and because my family plays it. I could never be invested in another MMORPG like I am in EQ.

Mark my words.... EQ1 will miss an expansion release date soon. And the fans will be hopeful that they get some good content out of the deal, but it will be the same cookie cutter junk once it does come out.

So the new "Everquest Legends" was a salvation ticket a normalizing move towards the community? Or was "Everquest Legends" the thing expected in 2028 as EQ3?

This honestly would not surprise me. For whatever reason, I think there will be a year where they may not put an expansion out, and when that time comes I feel like it would almost be the death of EQ.

if they keep putting out expansions like the SoR dumpster fire theyre going down anyway. the game needs a serious content push right where the sun dont shine. id love to see no new group game at all for 2 years and have them just focus on fixing the game bugs and going to a raid release schedule of content ... maybe doing an expansion every two years could afford them the time to be more creative and than keep the mney flowing in between with raids releasing every 1/4

Absor was the main raid dev and he left early this year but word has it he did train someone to take over his role. If SOR raids are an example of whats to come it doesn't look good.

Was doing some research about some of the recent MQ changes and saw this. Appreciate the kind words on the video and the shoutout.. Guess it doesn't hurt to out myself at this point.

Broken Stoic here.

Ya, there is a lot more information than what I could fit in this video and some of it is really concerning. I do not like to reference anything in my videos, that I can not prove and so some of the things like... The "Cold Iron" project is very sus.. Some of the names behind EG7 and structure they have within the companies they invest in also raises some eyebrows but without receipts it is tough to point the finger. Sorry that is cryptic but the details border some pretty lofty claims.

While I am hopeful, I am also a realist. I fear they may have put too many eggs in a very very unstable basket. The threat from Eros Capital is VERY real and that may result in a good or bad future for Everquest as a whole.. JChan's comment about a new EQ project likely meaning a revamped EQ1 is interesting. The recent comment in the FAQ about EQL is also interesting...

"Can I rent or own my own server and invite anyone I want to it?,
Not at this time."

Some signs here are pointing to potentially interesting outcomes.

Played EQ since its inception, been slumming around Red Guides for awhile. I love and appreciate all the work and effort you all put into this project! Would love to sit down and interview some of the developers of plugins and MQ if willing!

Confused Trailer Park Boys GIF

Edit: and when they get time, I hope some MQ dev or RG staff can do an interview with you.

"So yeah, basically come up with a cool name, pick a model, and make it do stuff" .. "ok Jchan my handover is done"

The game has been in maintenance mode for many years now that i think the only thing keeping it all going is the yearly revenue boost when folks are buying kronos and packs for the new TLP.

I think the game would have tanked already by now

The fact they are doing frostreaver and legends really shows how desparate they really are, rather than "trying something new". It's pure desperation to keep revenue up.
