I know i saw someone ask a couple months back about adjusting Melee range in the CWTN plugins to avoid AE rampage but I cannot find it, does anyone know how to do this, or where it was posted? >.< Thanks in advance!

from CWTN Commons 2/26/2021 updates:
Code:
CWTN Plugins - ALL
- StickHow has been replaced with StickSelection, with StickHow0 - StickHow9 options available.
-- AS ALWAYS the "stickhow" options are only for during an assist mode.
-- The default for "castery" classes has been updated to be more functional for castery classes
-- AS ALWAYS Do not use percent signs in the stickhow listings, unless you double percent it like: 55%%.
--- You will crash otherwise.
-- So if are currently using a custom StickHow you will want to ensure you go and update your StickHow0. Since the StickSelection is 0.
-- There are now (10), yes that many, StickHow0-StickHow9, options you can pre-define in your settings ini.
-- The UI window now has a dropdown for stickselection choice
-- you can also swap with slash command /zerk stickselection 2

the "stick" stuff is from mq2moveutils if you need a reference

I have previously edited the ini files for my individual characters "Stick HOW" so they are at max melee, my question is how would could I do that but have them be in a random arc, for fights suck as Tallon Zek, where you dont want to be bunched up? I looked at the mq2moveutils, and am not sure on the syntax, and if CWTN plugins use that. Any help is greatly appreciated. <3

well MQ2MoveUtils is what gives us the option to /stick, and the StickHow is how to use the /stick command. So yes your stickhow is modifying how it implements the /stick command usage.

This is what i am currently using for my max melee, i am not sure if it is "the best" way to do it, but so far it has worked.

StickHow9=snaproll 100%% behind moveback loose uw

There are also options to use "Left|Right" etc.

  • /stick snaproll [ left | right | face | rear ]
    • runs in a straight line behind your target then turns to face
    • left/right/front of target if optional parameter direction supplied
    • rear is default
as found on the MQ2MoveUtils overview page.

100%% is still going to give you issues where you don't try and use "regular" abilities.

We have a hard-coded distance check to be within 15 from the mob.

Would this work for my intended purpose? being max melee/ as well as in a random arc, so that my characters "hopefully" arent all stacked.

StickHow9=snaproll 100%% RandomArc moveback loose uw

Not sure. I use the plugin defaults, anything other those are beyond my control and therefore you have to test it yourself. If you want to share your results with others, you're welcome to do that.

NOPE! not working, messing with some settings in my mq2moveutils. looks like it's sort of working with randomarc on, but not the spread i was hoping for... maybe i need to find a mob with a bigger hit box.

well, you could set one toon to left, another toon to right, another to rear, and of course your tank would be in front. That would cover 4 toons at least.

That would explain why on Velks raid when i use 25 to get to the edge of his rampage range that dps suffered.

Unfortunately skills unlike spells, don't give us any information other than if we have them. So we're using a blanket distance check for anything that is a skill such as taunt, kick, frenzy etc.

Completely understandable its just the mechanics of that raid boss and will push through as always. I mean he died just the melee had to die alot too :P

ok since this is in here is there a way to set melee distances in mq2eskey for when in tank mode?
