Falant221 submitted a new resource:

Discrete Melee - Adding simple yet effective randomization to your meleeing for your "totally driven" toons!

This is a tiny script I'm planning on expanding. The basic gist is that currently for CWTN ran toons only(for now), every 10 seconds it will randomly select one of the first three stickhow options in the plugin. While it's not really noticable, it changes how your toons position themselves for almost every mob, and hopefully will help deter the MQ haters from getting you slapped with the hammer.

Planned Additions:
Kissassist and RGMercs support once I can figure out how
Scatter of camp...

This is pretty cool! It seems to work great with a static camp that you plan on pulling to but if you are moving around, like through a task, it tries to make you run back to the original camp even if you issued the campoff and reset camp CWTN commands.

Yeah I’m still working on figuring out how to handle other situations outside static camps - rn tho it’s pretty good for what it is, just bug testing and adding features now - I think one solution to the issue you mentioned is adding separate toggles for stick, assist and camp randomization, just gotta figure out how to use inis with Lua

I've downloaded this Lua today and was trying it out. I like how it randomizes things so the group looks more "alive". The one thing I am not sure I like though is the randomization of autoassist. Sometimes it sets up my dps not to assist until like 86-87 so my tank is getting beat up without any assistance to kill the mob quickly. A suggestion (if doable) would be to set up some kind of GUI that allows you to pick and choose what randomizations you want to use. Another thing to note is that if you are on tankpuller mode, it makes you stand up and go back to camp back and forth a few times when it randomizes something (haven't been able to pinpoint what).

Whenever I see any group in any xpac xp'ing/farming, I just always assume they are using MQ2 no matter what random input/setup they are using.

Years ago, I used to be naive after coming back from a very long hiatus...guess I'm just surprised there are still players around who aren't aware of the extent of boxing.

Are there really still people who report people boxing or is it a TLP thing? I assume if people got a GM vacation, it was because they were doing something especially egregious, and not because of a player reporting them.

Going to everquest support shows "How can we help" search box and then these helpful quick links

Yep. Unfortunately things like this are more for the user to feel a sense of safety than some outside observer. An outside observer just thinks your automation sucks.

I manually boxed for years before using automation, Im pretty confident in my ability to distinguish regardless of randomized assist or camp or angle of melee.

Imo the avg whiteknight reporting doesn't care if you are boxing manually or botting - they're gonna report you anyhow. Same 6 toons, in same guild, in same spot for hours at a time? Report. Unfortunately there are people with nothing better to do than go around and witch-hunt

Occassionally, you might run across that random person observing your group, and instead of reporting, asks to join and leech some of the easy XP and loot. Had that happen a few times while leveling new lowbie bots to add to my army.

I can speak from experience, there are people who witch hunt, which is extremely annoying. I have been checked out by people before and since I am never afk, I always respond, do a random character pause/unpause later in acting like he was AFK. I already randomize my positioning where chars do not overlap. I will sometimes just leave an area afterward as well.

the worst feeling is knowing your only option after a wipe is recovering in the GL. lol I have had to do this a few times with my raid team when ER was down or what ever. It always puts me on edge.

Good news is I should be pushing a much needed update out today. I've added a bit more controllable parameters, namely min/max ranges for scatter radius, pull breaks and assist range, and also bumped the default assist range minimum up to 95. I still need to do testing to make sure this doesn't blow up but it's good progress =) Thank you all for the tips and ideas.... oh and patience with a noob dev hah

As I'm not able to log in to test right now(EQ does not like my laptop and the house is asleep rn) here is a very much so beta version of the update: Please let me know any issues, fatal flaws, etc. before I push it out.
