If anyone ever wanted to try out Dungeons and Dragons Online now is a good time. It's Produced by Daybreak and Development is handled by Standing Stone Games.
You can make a FTP account and use the code GATHERYOURPARTY2025 and unlock a ton of content for free.

They also put 5 of the older expansions on sale for 99 DDO points each. You can get 600 points for $8 which would let you get the 5 expansions that are on sale,
I'm doing this for my alt ftp accounts as it will let me get extra rolls on chests for loot

i checked this out and im having a blast. dont really need to box in it since so far atleast i can either find a competent group to tell me what to do or follow a guide while using their version of a merc to heal me.

it is laggy though but apparently they have been working on it and its been better then lately. its also server dependant. i went to thrane

Yeah, lag is a problem next patch should fix things hopefully. Dungeon objects apparently are not being destroyed correctly evidently and winding up in a garbage file. They added server resources and supposed to address it next patch.

I use alts to get extra rolls on chest not really to box. Bring them in the dungeon let them die carry there shards to the end clear everything hit a shrine near the end to rez them. Then let them click the end chest and pass needed items to your main. Helps when trying to get named loot or rare items.

Has this game reworked their UI or is it otherwise possible to get it in HD? I think I remember reading something about it at some point.
I went to try LOTRO and it was a huge turnoff there

Unfortunately, not yet. They had planned to do it this year but were delayed due to server merges and the launch of 64-bit servers. Then they had the bad lag issue, and getting it resolved is the primary issue at the moment. I'm hoping maybe early next year.

Just spent the last 8 hours playing through the begining area... I have to say the game is fun. I was only able to get level 3 rank 11, however. And you know what it makes you slow down and look at the dungeons. The combat is very unique. will take some getting use to but well worth a try for some.

Haven't looked recently, but UI/general clunkiness was always Turbine's weak spot on all their games (AC, AC2, Lotro, DDO). They were super good at building worlds, fully top tier there, but the game was always a bit awkward to play.

im level 6 now and i havent even really left that first town stormreach. some of the quests are real confusing though some of the guides on the wiki could be better. i also found normal to be to easy and i didnt want to run everything twice so i got a sub so i can open up hard and sometimes elite. im also doing wierdo shit and trying to get all the rares in the open world area things
