Just wanted to make a place to consolidate it for the 12 people that try them and the 2 people who may stop to opine. Thanks!

What are these configs?
  • Beta: Config supports all level ranges and requires playtesting. Some gems or options may need to be updated, but the core is highly functional.
  • Alpha: See individual notes. These can range from one complete mode or level range, to numerous areas of improvement. Generally lack the full gammut of options and gem choices that Beta/Default configs have.

Current Alpha/Beta Config List (13 Apr 2025):
  • NEC Alpha (Live):
    • Modern Era DPS mode, viable from ~level 90, aimed at ~level 110+ group play.
    • Will need extensive gem and entry updates for low levels.
  • DRU Alpha (Live):
    • Heal Mode only.
    • All level ranges improved, but low level gem selection and options are very barebones.
    • Should be fully usable for live at level 100+ (Dozens of hours of personal use). May need further tuning/options.
  • PAL: Alpha (Live):
    • Tank mode only.
    • Revamp based on the SHD config, suitable for 100+ and highly functional, albeit without much choice in gems.
    • Needs gem/spell options at all levels and extensive work on rotations and abilities at lower levels.
Coming Soon!
  • Currently doing a lot of work for Project Laz configs. (Edit: All Done!)
  • I'm working Alphas into betas for Live as things progress.
  • There is talk among some of our regulars concerning Emu-specific/optimized configs (breaking them out from Live).

  • WAR: Live Beta (Near full rewrite, full support for Tank and DPS mode, may need tweaks for lower-level play) Now Default 3 Dec 2024
  • SHM: Live Beta (this will also become default for Laz once specific fixes have been applied) Now Default 19 Oct 2024
  • WIZ: Will transition private config to Modern DPS experimental Added to Experimental 14 Oct 2024

I'll stop by to opine:

I'm looking forward to the upcoming PAL and WIZ work! The SHD changes have been good, and I find myself missing some of that on my PAL.

Cheers, dude! This prompted me to throw some work in and port over what I had overtop our most recent SK immediately. I felt the same way when I initially booted up a PAL and this is where most of the idea came from.

I am not a PAL expert (my only claim to it is leveling one in a group, using RGL, from 75 to 120). However, I used an earlier version of this (before some of our recent SK changes) on live in the 100+ range and it worked rather well for me. It can definitely be optimized.
It is not quite ready for even experimental release... for example, spell options are non-existent (you get what you get). Half of the settings tooltips refer to SK's. Etc, etc...

To make it even dicier, at the immediate moment, I can't fully combat test, but it is functioning/buffing/etc properly in the guild hall (note that prior to this most recent incarnation it had a couple hundred hours of (somewhat active) playtesting, I just can't personally verify what I just added/updated).

However, if you are brave enough to give it a go, I have it listed on my personal config repo, and it should work fine as a custom config.

If not, hopefully you'll see it some time next week?

Thanks, looks like a typo, I'll get it fixed. Expansion release shenanigans and banwaves make testing a little more difficult currently.
 
Warrior Beta is now the default for Live and Laz.
Since Laz hadn't had any previous adjustments over live, this just gives it a fresh baseline.
Still seeking feedback and adjustment is possible in that level range (regardless of server).
 
New Config List (30 Jan 2025):
  • MNK: Beta (Optimized for Live, but may be an improvement over the old for Laz... whether this will be used on Laz depends directly on your feedback!)
  • ROG: Beta (Optimized for Live, but may be an improvement over the old for Laz... whether this will be used on Laz depends directly on your feedback!)

Coming Soon!
  • I am testing a Cleric beta internally (It should hit this week). I feel that it will be a strong healer at absolutely any level range.
  • Get the other configs revamped and continue to bring them all to feature parity as we improve them.
 
New Config List (31 Jan 2025):
  • CLR: Beta (Live and Laz, seperate configs). Heal Mode only, Hybrid mode may come along at a later date. Aimed at 1-125 to include Emu/TLP.

Wizard Experimental now has some low level (1-70) support as well, moving along to a beta once I finish the entire level range. See release notes.
 
With this update, Cleric Beta should be full-featured. The initial push was largely me converting what was present, this last push was me adding what wasn't.
Still need to do some homework on Laz AE stun/nuke usage for AE AA farming, but I might take it out of beta before that.
Just going to iron the kinks out of this first. Feedback always welcome!
 
MNK and ROG Betas are now default for Live and Laz.

As a reminder, we won't delete your outdated configs, so consider cleaning up once in a while (looking at you, dude who still has shaman beta files). Class configs are found in the (mqpath)\Lua\rgmercs\class_configs folder.

Over the weekend we reworked Enchanter DPS enough for me to push those changes to Beta to allow an easy fallback (I am unavailable to playtest on Live at the current time). It'll sit for a week or two.

WIZ Alpha for Laz was moved directly to release, as that config had zero Laz-specific adjustments and the rotations at 70 on Laz are entirely different.

Wiz Alpha for Live is now in Beta, should work well 1-125.

I am continuing to focus on bringing the other Laz configs up to a workable baseline that at the very least includes Laz custom AA and spells. I am in the process of PLing other characters besides my six to assist in writing and playtesting.

In the Alpha necro config? It isn't designed for low levels, as stated.

Apologies, Laz if it makes any difference. This may be a ME thing (not understanding settings) Nec is not Tapping to heal when really needed. If this is also a low level thing... no worry.
