Through a lot of trial and error , and a little luck, i have found what i believe to be the best spot to raise your guk faction. This strategy is probably geared towards characters lvl 50-70 but you could always drag lower lvl characters along to tag for faction.
When i was working on faction for this quest i tried lowerguk, aeing the entire undead side for hrs on end, disco camp in sebillis and also the higher lvl frogs down around the juggs area. I finally gave up because it was just taking way to long to get the required faction to finish this quest.
1 day i decided to get a tash stick for my bst and as you may know that drops in the crypt in old sebillis. Basically while i was there i killed everything but what was behind the locked doors to keep from being bored for 2 and a half hrs the first session, then the next day i went back for another 2 hrs. There are not that many frogs in the crypt to begin with, estimate maybe 20 max per round, with a 30 minute respawn so i killed in the neighborhood of 180 frogs max? I used my druid to PL every other toon i ever made and they are always PL'd in upper guk from lvl 8 to lvl 31 so my druid was max kos to Guk. I happened to run by Uguk sometime a few days later and by force of habit i conned a frog and my druid was ally!! I couldnt believe it!
Some of my friends were doing the Crown of Deceit quest and had given up for the same reason i had , I told them what happened to the faction on my druid so we headed to the crypt with their toons, and they were just amazed at how fast they raised Guk faction.
I dont know if this is some sort of Faction bug where you receive a bigger faction hit than what your supposed to or its just meant to be that way, and i dont expect anyone to take my word for it, So please if you are working on this quest check it out, i am quite positive this will save you tons of time raising your faction.
