Problem - Crash while Loading

I have two toons of 6 that are crashing while loading. I was able to log them in, ran to Goru'kar Mesa on them both, they both crashed while zoning in. I was unable to log them back in with MQ running. I was able to log in as them without MQ running, i gated them back to guild lobby, but I'm still unable to load them in. I get to the character load screen, click enter world, and crash with no error message. Here is the log that is written on every crash, however:

would double check their UIs are up to date, would consider saving any eq ini files with their names in it and try patching and run the dbg launcher file checker and then try again

I've done the following, and a couple notes:
1-I use the default UI, but i have reloaded it in game and am back to the stock view when you create a brand new character
2-I deleted all files in the EQ install folder that has the character names somewhere in the file
3-I renamed the MQ2Cleric.dll file and loaded my cleric to a crash
4-I deleted all files in the MQNext install folder(s) that has the character names somewhere
5-Ran the EQ "Validate Game Assets" from the Advanced Tools on the launcher
6-When i load a toon without MQ loaded, it loads up fine. Once I start MQ, the toon crashes and the following is printed to the Macroquest log. I can see the MQ window appear right before crash:

D 2022-09-19 19:12:03.509041 [mq] MQ2Overlay: InvalidateDeviceObjects
I 2022-09-19 19:12:09.606729 [mq] IDirect3DDevice9::EndScene: TestCooperativeLevel was successful, reacquiring device.

Note that i was not playing for 3 months. I came back, patched EQ, patched redguides, updated all plugins / macros. The two of 6 toons were working fine, then just crashed and now not able to get them back in with MQ loaded.

Any ohter suggestions?

well not sure why you renamed mq2cleric.dll - im not aware of any mq2cleric crashes, and haven't seen any come through the automatic crash reporting stuff. you also likely have 30-60 *other* plugins loaded.

we'd need @Knightly or @brainiac to comment if those logs are useful at all.

are you getting crash dmps? those are automatically submitted unless you opted out. if so, do you have a crash dmp ID?

speaking of the 30-60 plugins, it might be worth going in your macroquest.ini and turning all instances of =1 to =0 under your [Plugins] to see if you can root cause it.

I would also check that a: you don't have any files being held hostage by antivirus / defender (consider whitelisting those folders and subfolder directories), b: check your compat layers for anything MQ/EQ related
INI:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers

Are you running any overlay software? like nahimic?

I renamed the .dll file just because i was able to see the mq window appear and the mq2cleric (or shaman) window appear then crash, immediately after view, so that was the easiest way i could figure out how to tell the toon not to load any cwtn plugin. it wasn't the issue at all, just figured i'd toss that out as what i tested.

I am not certain about a crash dump or not, where would that be located at?

I set all plugins from =1 to =0 in macroquest.ini file (which is where i now see where to turn off the cwtn plugin i tried to test earlier, duh).

I was able to get in on my shaman. so now comes the process of figuring out what plugin is the issue. Will the dump file, if i can produce one, tell us that?

Here are the plugins i have in origina state (turning them all off allows toon to load):

can you try mq2say loaded and unloaded and see if that produces anything?

another community member had an issue where mq2say would cause a crash upon zoning for them.

could you also please answer the other questions just so we can eliminate existing thought lines

I could be wrong here (Often are)- but I thought eq2wire was defunct now that we use framelimiter.

Maybe some conflict when running both
eqwire is no longer a thing, that is some vestigial remains in the ini --- there isn't an mq2eqwire file that is being loaded and running

i disabled mq2say, there are no entries of any kind in either /layers location of the registry, i disabled anti virus and windows defender completely

Dumps are located on your logs folder by default. But a screenshot of the pop up would suffice.

Otherwise just keep turning things back on one by one until you figure out what is causing you to crash.

I never get a pop-up, it just closes with no message.

I’ll go in one by one tomorrow and turn em on until I get a crash to figure out which one it is.

Thanks for the help everyone - the issue was my react file, specifically i have some issue with a react where i added some new spells to. Disabling that react solved the issues.
