UPDATE -- it looks like it's due to having plugged in some speakers via the aux port in the back (uses headphone jack) so...after unplugging that it works fine....I swear



Howdy, this just started happening today.

Looks like something to do with audio. Right after selecting server select I get this error.

That's the grand design of the EQ audio engine. It works via steam because it forces its own driver wrapper that handles the audio handoff better when you plug in a new audio device. Try setting your speakers as the default communication device and the default device in Windows sound settings before you launch the game. Might also need to change the eqclient.ini so SoundDevice=0 to force it to stick to the primary (default) driver.
