Question - Combo DoTs - Help?

Just want to touch up on my Shaman ini in regards to combo DoTs. The ini will cast these DoTs w/o GoM procs when they're still in effect. From what I gather it's because the dps section doesn't say the DoTs that are part of it. If I add those DoTs as part of the dps section, will the bot not mem the DoTs if they're already on the NPC? Should I use a dual type function to highlight a specific DoT similar to how the focus buff works?

Help is appareicated and thanks in advance!

I am not exactly sure what your asking. The DPS and/or GOM code does not check for existing Buffs/DOTs as part of the check to cast or not. There is no dual tag used in the DPS section.

Hmm, interesting. I just didn't notice my magic DoTs getting recasted until they wore off or a GoM proc triggered but the Combo DoTs it would cast fairly frequently which can drain the mana fast. Is there a way for it to not refresh DoTs until they've worn off?

With my longer dots it seems to start to recast them when they get down to like 3-5 sec left, so they land just before they wear off, When I use my Shaman "Fast DoT, It seems to do the same if my shaman isn't interrupted with needing to heal someone. So it seems it is set up to basically try to keep the Dots of debuffs on a mob and not truly let them wear off.

That said, it is tough to try and watch to truly see when/if this does happen s it seems to, being I am usually manually running my tank and the shaman is running KA.

The timers for DOTs are created and set to the Spells Duration.TotalSeconds multiplied by any duration modifiers(AA's) so the spell should be recast after the DOT wears off. But there are a few things to consider. If you have any focus from armor that extends your DOTs, the spells Duration.TotalSeconds will NOT reflect the focus effects. So your character may start casting the DOT earlier then you expect.

If you want more granular control over when a spell should be cast regardless of timers. I have a beta version of KA I am testing that has IF/NOTIF/IFME/NOTIFME logic that will allow you to check if a DOT if on your target then skip casting the spell.

Gilly PM me if your interested, but before you do, you will need to be comfortable with editing your ini files and doing things a little different.
