Recently I sadly changed from Mules cleric ini which I loved but seemed no longer supported and I am not one to download/use the ini converter. I took a group to Empyr, which was never a big deal, spider/flame dots and all and just ate the aoe's because the new cleric ini just didnt work there. I've looked at the cleric ini's in the library. Any recommendations? My toons in this group are beasts, max aa yada yada but look like gimps using this ini:

@SA_krycek has a nice TBL INI
and mine also works well in tbl

Surfdog's INI looks like he's using SA's with a few EQMule Kiss stuff still left in there.

It's the one I use and has been working okay so far but I haven't been tackling anything too hard while I gear up/AA my new characters. Have you tried using the ini you have along with the MQ2Heals config he has to see if it can pump out heals faster when needed?

I would recommend adding Word of Greater Restoration to your Cure section. That spell has a cure element as well as a decent heal. It is not uncommon for a cleric to burn through all their AA cures and then have nothing left to use. This is where Word of Greater Restoration comes in. I use Sic’s cleric ini and it works great.

These guys have some great ini with conditions. My only complaint is what looks like a lot of over heals. You need to space out your heals by using different percents of health and lower the general % they are used at. I have little understanding of conditions, but it still looks like you will use a heal a 99%. This is wasteful. When you overheal by too much, you waste the hp, the spell cast, and loos time in the form of recast timers and global cooldown. You want the heal to be efficient and timely. I have 3 instant cast heals that don't work till target drops below 45. Do a test run on your heals see how much they land for. Then take your tanks hp and work out how much hp he has counting down by 5% starting at 95% A tank with 200k hp will have 180 at 90 %. Off the top of my head, I think Spiritual Remedy Rk. II can heal that and some. With my current settings in my heal section. I still overheal and at times by a very larger amount. I can never get cures from anything besides aa abilities to work, but I do have a few ideas. Get the name of the spell and look it up on raid loot. To see what you are curing. Do to order slot and amount of counters you may be better off using one spell over another or using one of these older spells because they actually decrease higher amounts of counters then your blood line , word and renewal cures. {Puratus Antidote Eradicate Disease Eradicate Curse Eradicate Poison } Make changes to your ini just to fit that zone. (change spell line up) If you staying around one spot make sure when you look up the spell note what the resist check is. You use a campfire to raise 1 of your magic resist. I also think you need to add Word of greater restoration to your line up. That other one may be quicker but has a high reuse time. You could drop your ds or dps and add a duration heal as well that you could even but in the buffs section. Not sure if this says much but in ..The Darkness Howls my 110 cleric can keep bard, mage, and water pet healed with like 2 or 3 mobs on it, and like 4 or 5 mobs with earth pet. This is with mercs turned passive (i know because I forgot to turn them back to active), no mezzes but bard pulling. (a lot of pulls are single and allow me to save my abilities for happy accidents). IN ros ot my air pet can take 3 trash mobs no problem with just cleric healing.

Last suggestion to deal with those dots and aoe spells. Look at the listed ini in above coments. Check out their conditions for group heal. You might be able to write one to uses the group heal any time X amount of players are hurt and leave the hp reference out or you could make it really high. Before fights with named, i change the hp % on word to 85 so it goes off before divine arbitration.

yes. mine is overhealing by design.

As I've said many times around here, TBL is a real pain if you are shitter geared - my crew came to TBL all shitter geared and I don't have access to raid gear or anything like that - doing all the missions and content I wanted to do I made my cleric very healer aggressive and was able to do all the content.

The fact that you mention a duration heal, I'm curious if you're doing TBL content with group gear'd toons?

Depending on content and goals, people's needs will be significantly different for how their group is setup.

As far as wasteful goes - since my cleric never ever ever runs out of mana, and I get the heals I need, I don't see it as being wasteful - wasteful would be *not* healing to save some mana that I don't need in the end and die because of it. TBL mobs hit very hard and I made my ini be heal intensive as if it were raid healing spamming heals.

As far as the heals not hitting for value until 45 - these mobs can kill me if i waited for a big heal until I'm AT 45 health. Again, I'm curious if you're doing TBL content - stuff hits super hard. Perhaps you're raid gear'd and don't have "regular people problems"

Thanks for the feedback, but your mileage must vary compared to mine.

Agree with @Sicprofundus . My remedy line spells start at 99%. The heal may start casting at 99%, but by the time it lands, and considering server-client latency, the tank will be lower HP. I am totally okay with overhealing. The main reason to use the remedy line, as opposed to the light heal line, is that you land spells more often for smaller amounts, thus reducing your overhealing and keeping your tank topped off. However, trying to mitigate all overhealing leaves you open to taking 1 bad round of combat with a particularly mob friends RNG result and your tank goes from 50% to dead.

That 45% heal, 17th/18th whatever, is purely an emergency fall back. Ideally, you will never cast it. But the condition exists to use it when applicable. It could be argued that this heal doesn't even deserve to have a spell gem at all. Before boxing with MQ2/Kissassist, I actually played cleric for a raid guild. I modeled my playstyle according to this thread and was the basis for my ini. The spell names in that thread have changed with new expansions, but the hierarchy and rankings are likely to be the same. Frankly, I don't care about sub-current content. GMM is undertuned, a cakewalk compared to TBL T2 and Hero missions. If an ini works at the highest levels, but is overkill for lesser content, I'm okay with that inefficiency.

I"m only at Ros. I would like to point out that I did say do a test run and gave a general description of what to look at. I also use GamParse-2.0.0-Beta to collect info on tanking and healing/spell count. I use the info to set up my heals. I do make changes based on what zone i'm in and if i'm fighting named. Currently, my cleric, mage, mage pet, and bard hp can dip to as low as 15% without dying. Yes Divine Imposition has pop on my toons, but I don't die often. I have easily gone for 6 months without dying. I hear and believe what yall are saying about the 99 percent, but do you use the same percents in every zone?

I also did specify those inis are setup for TBL.

Something I spend a lot of time talking about around here is that people's goals, and ideas of what is "good" or "what I need" are hugely subjective based on innumerable individual items - what works for me without any issues, might, can, and doesn't always work for someone else.

I usually start by asking things like "what are your goals (farming, progression, missions, hunters, etc?), what is your group makeup, how is your group geared (do you have access to raid gear/spells), etc --- all of these things severely impact how effective advice is

TBL is so completely different than any other jump in expansions, the mobs hit like a fucking truck, even adds hit like a truck - it is total bullshit really. In fact shit hits so hard in like feb or march they even lowered the amount of melee dmg mobs do in TBL, but it still is gross.

Comparing to farming in RoS is not even in the conversation - same with GMM

And yes - If I'm setup for the hardest of hard, and I have zero mana issues or deaths, there would be no reason for me to make an additional setup for something else --- now in the future I plan on doing a different setup that has some cleric dps, but since all I care about my clr doing at the moment is healing - all he does is smash heals like it is his job (because it is)

I hear what yall are saying but i really need to see and parse to understand it. I swear would have swore that a set up like that would have messed with spell availability. I'm use to getting random group members, so I have to quickly gather info and explain how the group will function. I try to do it in as few as words as possible and i might have dragged that habit here.

Looking for a solution for TOV and came across this again. This is a great heal ini and a most grievous fail on my part. I don't think i saw the !MA tag or i certainly did not realize how it was being used. I missed an (!) I don't use the ma tag most of the time so i totally overlooked this creative and well thought out ini. Gives me great idea on how keep cleric more focus on him self and tank.

I've since completely reworked my cleric setup. I now use a hybrid of mq2heals and kissassist. Later on tonight I'll try to remember to post a new resource with both a streamlined ka ini and mq2heal settings for raids and grouping.
