Question - Can you make it so in game commands don’t change the ini and are only temporary?

Version of KissAssist.mac?

When did your problem start?
Now
Character Role?
  1. Assist
What class is having this issue?
  1. Bard
How often does this issue occur?
Always
Can you reproduce the issue?
Yep
I have a hot button for /chase on; /camphere off and vice versus for moving camps without restarting KA. But sometimes it gets out of sync and the next time I start up KA some have returntocamp on and some have it off.

Would really love for my ini to be “locked” and in game commands only be temporary. Is that possible?

Afaik, the commands edit the ini and I do not "think" there is a way for KA to issue a temporary command, which is what I think you're referring to. Pretty cool idea if it is/was though.

Assuming you use a hotkey to fire up KA (since you mentioned start-up KA), have you thought of adding another line to that key for /chase on and/or /camphere off? I assume when you login and get setup you're not sitting at the place you intend on camping.

camphere and chase should not edit the init, thats some other commands that do that.

makesure your inis dont have returntocamp=1

I guess it depends on how you use the /chase command then per the wikli right? Just wondering for clarification. If below is correct, then "/chase on" would abandon the camp and resovle the issue =)

/chaseon
/chaseoff
Both edit the ini

but /chase on/off does not?

It would appear the "space" makes the difference.

I think /chase is a different plugin but /chaseon is part of KA. My mistake.

I think the /chaseon on turns returntocamp off and /chaseon off. Turns returntocamp on. Which does modify ini. The camphere just sets the new camp.

Kiss gives you the ability to change a variable WITHOUT changing the ini file, and with changing the ini file.

/togglevariable ChaseAssist 0 -- this will NOT change the ini file.

/changevarint General ChaseAssist 0 -- this will change the ini file

/chaseoff and /chaseon aliases that use the /changevarint command.

Togglevariable

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now to which up my hotkeys.
