Question - Can we split this forum and set some rules?

This forum has some great information, but it is difficult to find anything in it. I wonder if most people might ignore it because it is so big and confusing. If I had a wish for change, it would be that this forum would be split into three new forums with some rules for posting to each of the three new forums.

1. LEVELING STRATEGIES - No questions in the Opening Posts of this forum, only posts with working strategies would be allowed. Levels for strategies should be included in the titles. All posts to this forum must include a map and possibly a link to some zone mesh files, .ini files or .mac files to use at the location. Some serious Redcents should be handed out to those that post good currently working strategies for Everquest, but not until someone confirms that the strategy works. Everquest strategy websites are difficult to find for returning players. Many of the old goto websites are gone.

2. EXPLOITS - Bugs and Exploits are so similar that they can have the same forum. These posts need a format which should include a single sentence or a single word to describe the bug/expoit, followed by a detailed step by step explanation of how to make it work. Some serious Redcents should be handed out to those that post good working exploits but not until someone confirms that the exploit/bug works.

3. QUESTIONS - A place for those who want to ask for technical help in developing an idea someone has about an exploit, or help with ideas on how to exploit a possible bug.

I doubt we are going to split the forum up but we can defiantly add new tags to the forum so its easy to sort/search.

New tags would also be a huge benefit. Would probably be a lot easier to code than splitting the forum too.

If you split the forum, I would be happy to do all of the work in reorganizing the current messages, putting new titles on old messages, giving footnote credit to the original posters, putting the new suggested rules in a sticky post, researching the web for other strategies, bugs, exploits, giving footnoted credit, etc. and testing to make sure they work before confirming them.

Getting back to work on this now. Here's my proposition based on your requests, especially Malphaul's:

• EXP - includes level intended, group size, map link, and links to any mesh/.ini/.mac files.
  
  
• Plat - includes an estimated amount of plat per hour, level and group requirements, and links to any maps/mesh/.ini/.mac files.
  
  
• Exploits - Step by step guides for carrying out a certain exploit.
  
  
• Questions - No off-topic question threads allowed in this forum, they have to do with a specific strategy or exploit.
  
  
• Raid - Raid strategy. Includes level/group requirements, maps, and links to the boss mob in question.
  
  
• Guide - some posts are so massive they include several of the above, or they're about none of the above (i.e. Returning Player's Guide)
  
  
• Tip - some posts are so small, they don't really fit anywhere else. Example: turn on stick-figures on old machines to increase FPS.

Anything I should remove or add that will make this forum easier to use?

Sorting complete! I did the last ~500 threads, about to 2011. Posts from 2004 - 2010 are still unsorted and will probably stay that way, but are still searchable.

Use the filter at the top of the forum to find the type of strategy you want.
