• Hail, we're RedGuides. We want you to play six (yes, 6!) EverQuest characters at once. We have scripts and a friendly community to help, please join our playstyle and say hello! 👋
  • We've added LLM sections to our Terms & Rules and Resource Rules, for everyone's sanity & in-game safety.

    a. Do not replace your voice with an LLM. This goes for your posts and your scripts. Drafting and editing with a tool is fine, but don't take you out of what you share.
    b. Do not replace your EQ character's voice with an LLM. We don't want scripts that speak over /ooc, /shout or other public channels. This has been an unwritten rule that's kept casino scripts off the site for decades, but we're now compelled to make it clear: keep automated communication private.

    Why Does RG Review Scripts?
Nearly every LLM-written Lua script we see is making your character do impossible things, and rarely in a way that's beneficial to you. We've seen heavy server hammering, /target over impossible distances when /nav spawn would passively accomplish the same thing, a spawn search that fires 20+ times per second, and other pointless actions that are likely annoying GMs.

You are welcome to use LLMs as a tool to structure, draft, and edit your work, but please read critically before hitting /lua run

Question - Can Non-Caster Class have an option to not Melee?

Question, just curious aside from putting the melee class on pause is there a way that USEMELEE can be enabled within the melee class? Im just asking this as there are some cases where you want them to just not melee at all. for example: i would like the USEMELEE OFF on the beastlord but yet have the pet beastlord pet still attack. Just asking out of curiosity. Thanks

Solution
No classes without UseMelee will not have an option not to melee.

Adjust their camp or their assist if you don't want them doing stuff until a specific thing is met.

There are other tools you can utilize if you don't want them doing stuff but want them just to send in a pet or just do a buff or something.

with this being said when the casters have USEMELEE OFF i am noticing there pete dont assist. if i am wrong please let me know. and thank you once again.
UseMelee is for the toon to melee not send their pet or otherwise

I think there is a separate line on left settings below "Assist at" thats "Pet assist at" where you can set different engage percentage for pets. Either that or im getting confused with rgmercs. At work computer now, so can't boot up my crew. Did you want BST to cast spells during fight, or only send pet and nothing else?
