I've mained a cleric for most of my life. I know my spells, combat, and how I feel best using my spell lineups, heals, etc.
How does the Bring Your Own Spells know what should be casting? Is there a preferential order of heals / DD spells, debuffs, etc? I assume all of the CWTN plugins with a BYOS feature will use a similar pattern, but I am curious! With KissAssist, you can choose the list order and % to cast at. I think KA uses a "heals first, DPS second" approach.

they are organized the same way that non byos is. there is no specificity for what order, they are hard coded in. if you want granular specificity you would want something that allows that lvl of specificity. the "guts" (routine etc) is what it is.

So it queries the spells to sort their "type" out? If I memorized 5 direct healing spells such as the Remedy line (which I wouldn't, but just for funsies...) , it would figure out the order to use them, or does it go down by memorized gem order?
Is there logic for at which percentage to use which heal, based on the hitpoint healing properties?
Does it know the difference between the group healing spells, which ones have a cure component, etc?

That's the thing with cwtn plugins. They play the class the way cwtn (or whomever he's consulted with) thinks the class should be played. You use these plugins because you don't want to bother yourself with trying to "figure out" how to setup the class and what to use and when to use it.

yes, by type then top to bottom
yes
they are sorted that way, yes.

Same as IHC, or just pulling someone's .ini for KA.
I like to use these to figure out what others "think is right" for the class usage. Kind of like doing research, reading all my spells / spell lines, looking up info on Lucy, or hitting class forums for questions. Seeing what others have developed or put into an .ini is part of my research, and learning about a class.
