Brand-new user here so my problem is probably my fault.
I am running kissassist just on two characters to test things out. They are grouped, and I had the main tank targeted when I started kissassist on my cleric.
My cleric's buffs file looks like this:
[Buffs]
BuffsOn=1
BuffsSize=20
Buffs1=Courage
Buffs2=NULL
Buffs3=NULL
Buffs4=NULL
Buffs5=NULL
Buffs6=NULL
Buffs7=NULL
Buffs8=NULL
Buffs9=NULL
Buffs10=NULL
Buffs11=NULL
Buffs12=NULL
Buffs13=NULL
Buffs14=NULL
Buffs15=NULL
Buffs16=NULL
Buffs17=NULL
Buffs18=NULL
Buffs19=NULL
Buffs20=NULL
RebuffOn=1
CheckBuffsTimer=10
It will cast courage some of the time. Just now, I applied the buff and waited 25 minutes for it to expire. The cleric properly buffed both characters - which is perfect. I then waited another 25 minutes (stayed grouped, in the same zone). This time, when the buff expired, the cleric didn't re-apply it on either character.
I see similar behavior when I click off buffs to remove them. The buffer may re-apply them, or they may not. It's very inconsistent, and I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong.
Any help you can offer is very much appreciated.
P.S. A little more info. In the kissassist wiki https://www.redguides.com/docs/projects/kissassist/#buffs-settings, I found this statement.

P.P.S. (I'm starting to feel like Gandalf at the Prancing Pony)
I think the problem was that my tank's role in their kissassist file was "assist". I changed this (line 2 in that ini file) to "Role=Tank", and now I can start kissassist normally on my tank (I was getting an error in the MQ window and didn't see it). Also, the file kissassist_buffs.ini is showing buffs from both characters. So, perhaps it's working now.

- Any character using KissAssist now writes all current and blocked buffs to the kissassist_buffs.ini file. KissAssist scans this file and compares it with the buffs that are listed in the character's Buffs section of their ini file. If another character is missing a buff, and it stacks, they will cast it on that character.
