So we all know promised heals really suck in an afk group (the debate for them completely useless can also be made but that's a different discussion). However, the fact that it's a big heal that is low mana cost, passive heal, and proactive got me thinking how to use it better in a afk/semi afk group. I insert a line in the KA macro right after :FoundMob (not the goto statement)

I put in a line such as /gsay "My pull phrase" or /bct healername "give me a promised heal" or whatever

In the healers MQ2Events_toonname.ini I have the corresponding trigger:

[Promise]
trigger=#1# tells the group, 'My pull phrase'
command=/multiline ; /target ${EventArg1} ; /casting "Promised Rehabilitation Rk. II"

This at least optimizes the promised line a little better I think. I've been using this for the last 2 months and forgot to share back the idea to you guys but it's just another idea out there. Anyone trying this, please send me feedback on your results.

gives heal 18 seconds after casting.....hard to time that. Also, I think if you cast a promise before the heals lands, it actually resets the timer and you don't get the heal

You could but because the heal lands 18s after cast, starting at dps isn't as efficient (I tried that before too). I found the way I outlined above as the best use in a non attended situation. The pullertank (that's what it is my case) has found a mob and starts going out to pull. He comes back and starts fighting and the heal will land sometime after my first spam heal. Good call ctaylor but tried it and didn't like those results.

#1 Its a great instant cast heal. I use it all the time on my MA at like 97% health.
#2 With AAs is more like 30s delay since its affected by Buff Duration AAs
#3 Kiss times it perfectly. i spent a lot of time making sure it landed and went off correctly.

This is my log file for real time fight with names redacted and combat spam removed.

[Wed Apr 08 16:17:59 2015] The promise of divine reformation is fulfilled. You have been healed for 34899 points.

The delay between pulling text and actualy promised landing was 2 secs (internet lag?) The actual heal occurred 18s after landing on tank. Cleric is max aa. I'll check more parses and logs.

Wow did they finally fucking fix it. Mouse over the blinking buff icon on tank and check out the timer.

18s always for me. I think this was bugged before though like you said.

I'll capture more logs if you want but it's actually a bitch to go through all that spam. What disturbs me is the 2 second delay for when I ask for the promised heal and actually receiving it. I guess that's the doevents delay....it can't be from lag.

I think maybe there's a misunderstanding of what I am attempting to do with this small mod. Promised heals work with KA, whether you put them in heal section or dps. What I am trying to do is time shift when that delayed heal occurs. If I put promised in DPS section say as DPS1=Promised Heal|99|MA.....ok that heal is cast when the mob is at 99% and will heal the tank 18s later. If I put heal at top of heal list as heals1=Promised Heal|99|MA, ok, it's cast when the tank gets damaged a bit and will land 18s later. Both of these work but I wanted the heal to land when the tank is most vulnerable. That for me and I think most people is at the start of the fight. Usually happens on multiple pulls before tank pops the disc or before the mob is debuffed. Without adding complex logic, this was a quick and easy solution to attempt to time shift the actual heal of the promised heal to the beginning of the fight. This benefits those tanks that are squishier. If your tank is solid, you probably don't need promised heals anyway. That's the idea behind this.

I had them set as a buff, I thought they were working as planned but i never looked over my clerics parse so long as they got the job done.

I have my cleric set to cast it when my tank is at 95% health and the cleric is also running the increased hp aura so when my tank runs out to pull and comes back in range his hp % drops due to the aura and the cleric tosses out the promised before he actually takes damage. So depending on the pull I am not waiting 18s after first hit, it is more like 10s.
