Question - Best way to have my characters run around a single area killing

I have frequently wanted to do the following:

1. Have all my guys run around inside an irregularly shaped area (as in, not a perfect circle which fits neatly into a camp radius)
2. Everyone moving along with the tank, so no pulling back to a camp
3. Having the ability to prevent my characters from going certain places

I feel like some combination of hunter mode in KISS, chase, and customizing a zone's nav mesh to block off certain places could accomplish this. Does that seem feasible? Anyone want to start me on the correct course for this?
 
Seems feasible, but also a lot of work. What are you actually trying to accomplish?
 
There are lots of situations where a particular quest or farming a particular item requires me to stay in a specific area within a zone. Random example is this question that I'm currently working on:

The items in question really drop in only one part of a zone, and it's an area where KISS pulling does not work very well, since a) the paths the mobs travel are long/complex and they often get stuck on terrain, and b) the ideal area for pulling does not correspond to a perfect circle. Another example of a problematic pulling zone would be Muramite Proving Grounds, which has really, really bizarre terrain/paths which foul up long distance pulling. If my guys were running around killing instead of pulling, the problems that result from trying to pull really long distances using KISS wouldn't happen
