Hi everyone, I am debating which to add, I currently have an account where it has a beast ranger and mage all maxed. I know the mage is the best dps here, However i already have another mage for dps, so my question is would i be better off adding the beast or ranger to group instead of another mage" Thanks for advice all.

i don't really like the double-up (or triple) of the same class.

any of those would be fine - i'd pick what you like more, for me i like having a bst and bst/mage help each other out

Its more about what you like to do/playstyle.

If you are pet tanking, a back up mage pet is not a bad thing.

Both BL and Ranger add plenty in their own right. Though I find BL to be a lot more maintenance.

Honestly though I would suggest just playing for a time with each, to see how they work with your set up.

Then if ya cant decide, go with the one that has bigger bewbs =p

I really like my wizard for the porting to bind and travel in general. He Out DPS' my mage all the time. But again pick what you like. the Bst/mage combo is cool also.

It depends is the answer. First rule is, play what you like, otherwise you can get burnt out.

I do not recommend doubling up on mages.

BL - If you do not have a shaman in group or have caster group, BL buffs will help out alot.

Ran - If you have a shaman in group, and are a melee group, ranger buffs will help.

Interesting comments thanks. I actually have a rogue and he does well, but the mage beats him in group. its dps is similar but mage has so many advatages over a rog. coh is a must in new expanssion.

however A wizard is a great idea, now you got me going to start a wizard tonight, on that account, i have a heroic char avail so can get him to 130 in a few days. thanks.

here is my group, SK, CL, mag Bard, Enc. Bst. i may try and swap out the bst with wiz. i will explain why i am using this group

You may ask why i am using a bard and ench and cleric and no shaman, and here why.

i was doing fine all the way to the last zone labyrinth of spite, with a normal group. SK, bard, shaman, rog , mage , extra dps

but LOS zone wipes my group everytime when i get into the middle and get mobbed by 10-15 mobs or so.

so i swapped the shaman for cleric, the extra rog or dps for a enchanter. so we will see how it goes when they are ready to go back this time. i will have better mezz and healing abiliites and good dps.

I have tried so many groups but LOS requires expert in mezzing, healing , and tanking, you need all 3

oh and the reason i must have a bard, is i need fast run speed and a puller. there is no subsitute for a bard.

Wizard is fine. I have not had issues in Spite once you understand that control of your char is more important than the type of char.

I really like the bst class, it is what i consider my main in my group but with the group configuration you talked about I think that a wiz would be good addition.

thanks i usually drive the sk and let the rest do their thing, Just been having trouble in that main section with my current group. i am sure if i tried longer i could figure it out but i got frustrated wiping several times. i really just want to test this new group to see the difference it makes

I like the beast too, it was one of my first characters. besides my druid he is the oldest., very first char in 99 was a halfling druid and he got a lot of racist comments lol there was one guild that would not take halfling driids because of racism
