be warned 30 pepole baned on Fennin Ro for useing mq2 they brought a few zones down for "routine maintenance" as soon as they came up poof bans stared

Was it a certain plugin or macro they were using that caused them to get banned? Like ghost plugin or warping or something?

Word on my old guild's message board is all GoD and higher content (counting natimbi/sewers but more importantly qvic - anguish in OoW) has detection now for ghost killing - specifically in regards to autoattack. The instances will throw you to the zone's succor point about 20 - 30 times before stopping and reporting you to the server. The normal zones are using a different check as a trial for implementation in all zones next patch.

As far as I know only the normal zones that were mentioned in the restart were affected (Riftseekers for example.) They're testing to see how it'll work to apply to all normal zones next patch. It's not an exact science since they've now brought that set of zones down 2 times but the bans are coming in.

The bans I know of were from being stupid in Tacvi/Anguish/Rifts royals - People are still doing it in zones like PoFire but all it takes is a petition from a guild asking "Why isn't xxxx up?" and the GMs can find out

Why would a guide tell you when it died? I wish I had guides giving me random mobs spawn times and when they were killed... If you are on a populated enough server most will just assume it was killed by another guild.

I think the key here is that they are getting banned for ghosting in GoD+ zones. This makes some sense, as that there are some servers that the highest guilds haven't yet beaten all of these zones that are getting cleared out by illegal means. Then the people that got all this "phat loot" run around and show it off, making the top guilds mad. Thus, the top guilds report them, and they get banned. I know on Zek a guild was using doing this, got caught. I believe that only the leaders were banned, and the guild was disbanded.

The moral of the story, don't be a retard with hacks. Try to keep it on the DL. Having hacks should not give you the mentallity that you can do anything.

I will also just repeat the logic of mass bannings that someone else has already said. Unless people/guilds are doing things that are interfering with other peoples playing, I sincerly doubt that they will be banning tons of people. It just doesn't make sense finacially.

I feel its like this do it and keep it at that just you knowing about it ..The tards that are out tellin the world get all of us hosed. Everyone has their limits to where they will go hacking wise keep to your own and play smart and you're gtg. Let the retards keep getting banned but save your own ass by never saying anything about hacking to people in game or even outta game unless you trust them 100%.

Guides CANNOT pull up mob spawn times... it is against their policy and procedures manual... matter of fact they can't do much of anything except post to a GM board and sit on their arses and wait... Hell only senior guides can /kick someone. If a Guide was to give ya a mob spawn timer all ya gotta do is /report them and /petition and i guarantee they will not be a guide tomorrow.

PS. Guides are not given secret tools to detect any cheats ingame. The people they catch are based purely on observation. CSR's or GM's do not usually randomly visit the servers anymore with the exception of Tunare (Guide training server) and Stormhammer. They usually are requested at the behalf of a guide or to partake in an event.

I want to find out what tools GM's have at their disposal. Wish I still had access to their message board to see what they've been saying the last month or so.

Ran - this has nothing to do with guides heh - he confused guides with guilds. Guilds that see a mob they know other guilds didn't kill can simply petition a GM, who can easily find who killed that mob.

Just like the super-exp egg trick, people are getting the ban for ghost killing (specifically with autoattack.) Ghosting is telling the server "look at me - I am warping 10,000 times in a week." A GM will look into that, they know what mobs you killed, who was in your group, who benefited from it, etc.

I'm reading the drama on my old guild's forum as it unfolds - they never used this stuff during raids but they definitely used it in group situations. The GM emails they've posted show logs of "10,000+ warps over the course of a week" - details of the items they looted, who it went to, the IPs they were on, the mobs they killed, etc etc. They have some nice tools now to catch this stuff. The GMs obviously aren't e-mailing them the logs from the server, but in one of the emails it covers all the GoD trials and items they looted from it while ghosting.

As the original poster said - don't screw around. Most servers don't have GMs so it'll take a while. But if you're on legends, stop right now. If you're on a normal server its your choice.

Truer words have never been written Tone.

As a rule I keep my hacking restricted to instances like FH to pl my toons all other hunting is done in a normal manner. I never warp, ghost or equip items that I'm not supposed to thats the quickest way to get banned. I only use my hacks to save time and plat when I'm out in public even then I make sure no one can see me (like when I gate).I also know of uber toons in uber guild sneaking around and reporting people to this I say mind your own damn business. If the game wasn't so unbalanced and the uber guilds relaxed their hold on all the good raiding / grouping zones maybe there wouldn't be a need for so many people to hack. Thats my two copper :)

mq2 is kinda like drinking and driving..you have a beer or 2, drive home carefully, chances are you will probably never get caught, but if you get shithoused and drive 100 in a 35, you are gonna land in the slammer, just keep it cool and dont be a dumbass, just like drinking and driving!

I think the ones making these posts are GMs. Then, if something like this actually does come to pass, no one's going to believe it cause they've heard it 300,000 times before, and they can get everyone at once.

hacking a video game is not like getting drunk and driving, no one gets killed...... only 1's and 0's....

sorry not to nit pick but that was a very very very poor analogy, my 16 year old brother was killed by a drunk driver.
please do not glorify or glamorize drinking and driving, and don't shrug it off as a joke... it is a very serious thing.

sorry, that just hit a nerve, I don't knwo why.
/rant off

Dude that just went over your head. He is saying if you use mq like an idiot then you'll get banned. If you drink like an idiot then you'll do stupid shit like driving drunk 100 mph in a 35 zone. That's the analogy.
