I'm pretty sure that turning off the game's autoattack on assist function is intended behavior so that the macro can control turning attack on and off without interference. What behavior are you actually experiencing? Are characters not attacking when you think they should be?

sorry about that. Wife called for dinner and I didn't realize I copied the wrong file. the correct file is below.

When I run KA the MQ2 text box says it ran fine, says the SK is to be assisted at 95 and looks good. In the regular chat box I get the message about auto assist being off. When I attack with the SK all the toons stand around watching the show. The cleric does heal which I suppose is working as intended.

When I log in the toons I group them up with the SK as leader then set him to tank/assist/puller. I then run KA on the other 5 toons. auto assist off happens every time now. I even deleted all their .ini files, reran the program, recopied the templates from here, reran the program again, and same result.

thanks again for your time

The auto attack off message is intended i think , i'm getting it and its working fine.
Sorry dumb question, but are you sure the toons are targeting your SK when running KA?

when I run KA I get a message about no tank if I don’t have him targeted. I have to target him and rerun the macro. I created an invite hotkey to get them all in. Now I have to figure out how to get them all to accept the Invite and target the SK without going to each individual toon. Baby steps!

so on my hotkey i do a /mac kissassist assist ${Group.MainTank} --- this of course means i'm already in group and have roles set - but I use a combination of mq2autogroup and mq2autoaccept to do both of those things as soon as i log in

when i click the mq2autogroup hotlink it takes me to a page with a download button. I click on that but it takes me to another page with all the code as if i should copy paste it like a class ka. do i copy it directly into the ka file?

That links to the source. mq2autogroup is a plugin already included in VV, so you don't have to download anything if you have Very Vanilla installed, try /plugin mq2autogroup to start it.

I usually do this to check if my group is ready to go and correctly setup

load up mq2status on all toons

on your Tank do:
/bcga //status

it shows the groups status if any macro is running, who you have as assist

Ok, back with more questions. I can’t figure out why this is so challenging for me. No one is assisting the tank anymore. I load them up get them grouped, set Sam as main assist/tank/puller, then I manually go to each toon and target the SK. When all that is done, I go back to SK and type /bca //Mac kissassist The mac runs on all the toons. I double check to make sure it says the SK is main assist and everything looks good. I go pull a mob and run it back to camp. No one assists. I can pull the mob all the way to them and even click the come to me button while fighting so I don’t think it’s a distance issue, The only way I can get them to assist is to back into each toon separately and target the SK and run kissassist from their screen. Then they happily go squish whatever it is. I have to do this every pull. Thoughts?

So as I read more, it appears that part of my frustration might be from downloading new files every 5 levels. Below is one of my zerkers. The only thing i changed was Role=DPS It did say Role=assist. I thought maybe that would help but nothing changed. Can someone tell me what might be the issue in this code and then I can apply it to the next level code if I run into similar issues? I'm guessing the higher level codes get used/vetted more so there might be some inconsistencies in the lowbie codes. Thanks in advance!

Just a thought but what level of mob are you trying to abuse? Looking at your InI I was wondering if this might be the area that might come into play.

[Melee]
AssistAt=95 <----------- What I am thinking is that either you have not hit the mob enough to get it below the 95 health limit. (Either the mob is to strong to cause enough damage to it or the mob is so low that it will not regester for the group to attack it yet)

I have pulled things that it takes a min to get it below that 95 threshold. The tank just couldn't damage it enough and had to tag a group character to fire off a nuke to bring it down under that 95 mark. Then everyone hammered it nicely. So suggestion would be to see if the mobs health goes below this mark and what the rest of the group does.

@Zebadiah
Initially I thought this was might be an issue but it’s not. Pulling reds it takes a minute but I pulled some blues and hammered away. Nothing from anyone. I started using the suggestion from Sic and made a hotkey on my SK /bca //mac kissassist assist ${Group.MainTank}. I pull a mob and as I’m running back to camp I hit the hotkey. It runs KA on the other 5 toons. I get to camp, start the attack on the mob, it hits 95 and the zerkers get after it. I still have to switch to the bard and manually click attack or he just plays songs for morale I suppose. Cleric does his job somewhat correctly. If I don’t hit that hotkey every pull then everyone eats popcorn and watches the SK go splat. There has to be something in the file causing it not to work properly but I can’t figure it out. Or maybe it’s user error but I’ve deleted the .ini files multiple times and started over with no success.

I've used several different bard ini's from here, and I haven't had one yet where the bard didn't work the way I thought it would. We've already established upthread that you are using the right files.

I'm pretty sure you shouldnt be needing to hit the hotkey each pull, so why dont you run through exactly what you do when you go someplace to set up shop. Unless what you mentioned above is everything you are doing.

(I run CWTN plugins on everyone but my bard)

I'll tell you the exact steps I take when I do it:
I get everyone to where I want to set up.
I target the tank on my bard and /mac kissassist. I have a hotkey for this but I still do it manual all the time because im weird.
I Hit my 'Camp On' hotkey, which is pretty much the exact same one Sic has on his hotkeys guide.
At this point it depends on what character you are driving but im either /shd mode 7 (Sic Tank) or mode 5 (Puller Tank) if im in a easy camp.
After that either I or my tank goes and pulls stuff and everyone does what they are supposed to.

I appreciate everything you are saying. I reposted the ini because it was a different one than I used before. I leveled up A bit so I used a higher level file.

My process for logging getting set up:
1. Right-click MQ2 and start EQBC Server - click stand-alone - minimize
2. Right-click MQ2 and load all 6 toons through profiles (SK,Bard, Cleric, 3 Berzerkers)
3. Once all are loaded I hit my group invite macro on the SK which sendS the invite to the other 5 toons
4. I manually open each of the other 5 and accept the invite and target the SK (I haven’t figured out a hotkey from the SK for this process yet)
5. I set roles for the SK as tank/assist/puller
6. I hit my hotkey for /bca //Mac kissassist assist ${Group.MainTank}
7. I go into each toon to ensure KA worked and they all have assist SK <95
8. I pull and no one does anything.
9. I hit the hotkey again and the zerkers jump into action
10. I click on the bard and manually tell him to melee.
11. I repeat steps 8-10 for each pull.

all steps are completed at camp. I have even clicked the come to me button to pull them to me so attack radius isn’t a factor to see if that could solve it but no.

Ok so I'm still learning myself, but what I think is happening is you aren't setting a camp. /bcg //camphere on
after step 6 or 7.

Hummm... Let me know if I have this right. You log-in your group to EQ. Once they are all in, you group them up and now you have your Vengeance Group ready to terrorize the country side. Being the mastermind that you are, you choose the SK to run the group and set him up as the tank or pullertank by using:
/mac KissAssist Tank OR /mac KissAssist PullerTank (this is, for right now, just the SK). You have also set the roll in the group window for the SK to be the tank and Main Assist. Right? Now he's all set and its time to get the rest of the group to assist the tank.

On my hot key I have it set up this way.

HotKey Name: Group KA <-------------You can call it whatever you like.
Line 1: /pause 10, /bcga //target Tankname <--------(pause is for server lag, since I run the same characters in this group I use my tank's name)
Line 2: /pause 10, /bcg //mac KissAssist assist <-----this is so the group will assist my tank (/bcg is for the group excluding the one who issues it.)
Line 3: /pause 10, /mac KissAssist Tank <-------------This is for just my tank. You can also use PullerTank instead.
Line 4: /bcg //dance <-------------------this lets me know that everyone has followed the group setup and have tagged the tank.

I then click the follow me button and back up a bit and watch them follow. If I have problems with one then I can go to him and see what didn't take. So now the group is ready to go out and hunt. From you post this looks to be where you are having the problem. So you take your group out and find some green or light blue critters to abuse and its time to see if the group works. All the characters INI files are current and ready. Right? At this point is where I start to fine tune the group and characters. If the group works and does what they are assigned to do then I am ready to go hunt bigger stuff.

If you would like help with having you characters autologin and autogroup let me know I can go over it with you (if need be step by step). Just let me know

Note: /bcga is used with EQBCS to broadcast to all group members including the one issuing the command
/bcg is used with EQBCS to broadcast to only the group members excluding the one issuing the command.

all of this can mq2autogroup do

all of this can mq2autogroup do

I knew this existed but because of my other issues I hadn’t looked at it yet. I went through the guide and everything looks to be set correctly. How do I actually get the other toons to accept the invite without doing it manually? Did I miss something In the setup?

thanks Zeb. I get them grouped and KA going and it looks good. They just refuse to assist unless I tell them to. i am thinking of deleting then reinstalling KA and start from scratch. It’s possible I tinkered with something I shouldnt have and since my toons are yKung and not very complicated this would be a good time

i think I got something right! After setting it up I logged off for a bit. When I logged back in autogroup ran, members accepted, and roles were defined properly! Super cool man. Thanks

now back to our regularly scheduled program of ”SK go splat with no assist”

:siren::siren::siren::siren::siren:Berzerker not assisting solved!!!:siren::siren::siren::siren::siren:

I figured it out ya'll!! Below is the .ini for the level 30 zerker. If i cleared the file and ran it as the original KA file the zerker assisted no problem. I went line by line to see what was different and why adding this file caused them not to assist.

It was the Buffs1=Blunt Axe|Summon|Blunt Axe|200 line. I removed the |200 from the line, reran KA and viola! Magic! Eventually after enjoying for a while I ran the zerker back and realized I actually never bought the tomes or the reagents. I bought both and added the |200 back in and it ran smooth as silk baby! Every iteration of the zerker .ini had that line but I didnt have the necessary items. I don;t know if it was lack of knowledge of the tome or lack of ingredients that caused the issue but we are rolling now baby!

Now to start dialing in the bard and cleric. Thanks for all the assistance ya'll. I learned several things I wasn't even trying to learn through this process and I am forever grateful.
