Hi all. Sorry if this is a painfully newbie question, but I just started playing EQ and using RGMercs all in the last week.

Whenever I auto-attack a target with my main tank + main assist, who is also the character I drive, he'll attack one single time and then auto-attack will immediately disengage. None of the other party members attack. I'm just trying to get everyone to use basic melee on rats and bats in the tutorial.

Everyone is in melee range. My MA appears correctly in the RGMercs window. If I tab over to my other group members, they also have the same issue with auto-attack - pressing the auto-attack button makes them attack once and then immediately turns off. The only way to really auto attack is to spam click the button.

If I pause RGMercs and auto-attack, it functions as normal and like I'm used to. If I unpause RGMercs while auto-attacking, it immediately turns off again.

Not sure what's going on. Seems like such a simple issue but I'm not seeing how to fix it. I checked the FAQ and found a question that seems related: "I want to manually control my driver and choose my own targets. What do I need to adjust?" but the adjustments it suggests are all on by default.

Help would be much appreciated!

It must be frustrating to have an issue like this straight off, and it is definitely not usual!

Sounds like RGMercs thinks you should not be beating on said target.

On your MA:

Go to the bottom of rgmercs window and pop open the console.
Hit the unlock button, type in OkToEngage (not "okay", type it exactly as shown).
Change the log level to verbose.
Attack the rat, and let us know what it says, without sharing toon names.

I expect to see a result like:
OkToEngage check for stupid_rat (ID: 4) - I am MA proceeding!
Or something telling you why it didn't work.
Please note anything telling you why it is clearing targets as well.

The discord channel would make this line of communication much faster.
Make sure you turn the log back to info/warning whatever your preference when you are done!

BTW I changed a setting that was causing the auto-attack to shut off to default to false.
It was a little *too* safe.

/rgl forcetarget should also support objects now.

As a note, @madimp wanted to inform you that you can /open many quest objects like that. Attacking may not be necessary.
