Question - Anyone know of an updated bags/containers guide?

Lots of stuff out there, but most of it seems pretty dated. Curious with my box team what I could reasonably easily go after to get some larger bags for my toons.

a ton of the modern xpacs give you very large bags for completing hunger achievements - between those and the mission currency purchased bag, you will be good to go.

I usually start my dudes off with deluxe tool boxes with 1 or 2 extraplanar trade satchel and dudes who i care more about i purchase and then expand the "unexpanded tailored transcendent packs" from the bazaar

Overseer RoF rewards, befouled pelt/silk make 20 slot bags to start off with, then do ToV / TBL progresson/mission.
Also TBL group vendor 40 slot bag 750 Fettered Ifrit Coins (you are going to go after chase loot from fight fire so may as well get a bag), Some lower slot bags from othe xpacs EoK/RoS

Hunters & the group/coin vendors for each expac are the way to go. Once you've done a few expacs you're set on bags.

RoS Cacti mission is super fast and if you farm it on cooldown (125 Bathezid gems per toon/win) can get everybody a Combine Empire Locker (36 slots) for 750 Bathezid gems.

Satchel of Combine Heros is a good tradable 40 slot. There's a 40 slot in Hardcore Seb (might be perma camped) and a rare 40 slot in RoS.

If you've got nothing else to buy with Loyalty tokens, that vendor sells seasonal 16 slots.

Doing all of the Hunter for COTF and TDS did not take me very long and everyone is full with 32-40 slot bags. I ended up with 5 40 slots from EOK and sold 4 of them for a Krono each just because the difference between a 32 slot and a 40 slot for a box is irrelevant for me.

You can also get a 20 slot bag by doing the Mail run quest which starts in the housing area.

Not much to add, everyone has it covered pretty well - Something worth noting about using loyalty tokens for bags. If it's a gold account, bags of platinum and expanding bags are probably a better use of your loyalty (obviously check the bazaar before committing to this). If they're free accounts, this note is irrelevant as they can't get the bags of platinum.

Expansion currency purchasable bags and good missions to farm to get the currency.
Eok Bag - Chest of Empires (36) - Goblins and Fools you can invis past most of it.
RoS Bag - Combine Empire Locker (36) Fell Foliage eqtrader mentioned above.
TBL Bag - Tan Battleworn Sack (40) - Fight Fire is quick and easy as long as you can split them. (jande mentioned above).
ToV Bag - Restless Sporran (40) - Griklor is stupid fast if you can one drop him.

Not sure if you mean the bags are drops in those but you can buy them - for example Chest of Empires 750 Sathir Trade Gems

Of course there is always the store. And a little known "Out of Gloomingdeep" quest will get you one. Diggory drops one in Feerrott

I wasn't clear. Those are just all the expansion specific currency vendor purchased bags. I've edited that post to reflect this.
