Hi all,
I was curious if any of you have played or do play on Project 2002.
I heard that you can 3-box max , so no BOT armies to deal with.
I heard it goes up to POP era and that's it.
I was just curious why P99 and even several other EMU servers have such popularity.
But P2002 doesn't have RMT ads anywhere.
But besides that , I was curious why it seems nobody ever really discusses that server.
I was wondering , since some fold have bad things to say about P99 (I never tried it yet) and some folks have good things to say about P99.
Yet P2002 seems like a forgotten Emu server.
I only chatted with one person from there and she said P2002 has great GM's and a great and helpful community.
I was told it's one year old, since it was another server of some sort prior. And the economy on P2002 is still in the growing stage. So I see why it's less popular.
But I was curious why it's rarely spoken of at all.
So on case I was gonna try it , I was curious if any of you have experience with P2002.
Thanks.

I think you kind of answered your own question int he post. It's relatively new, not a lot of action going on there that is coming to this site, etc. If you think about how many players in a community of EQ there is vs. how many say come to RG, it's a really low number. Now take that ratio to the P2002 server and you likely have less than 5 people that play there and come to this site. Just a guess.

You make a good point. But since it's been around for a year to date pretty much.
But I wonder if P2002 will gain the sane momentum as P99.
That in a few years, there will be lots of P2002 transactions on RG, just like
P99 has.
I did chat on another forum with only one person who I know that plays P2002. She told me the GM's are very nice. BUT they are also anti RMT (not surprising )....BUT I don't know if the GM's on P2002 treat RMT like "McCarthyism" was in the 1950's...when the US government had a "Black Book" of folks accused of being Communists.
From what I read on P99, I do respect the fact that the folks who run it are volunteering their time to bring back the classic EQ experience for us.
But I also read how you can be accused of being involved in RMT, even if you are innocent ...then you are branded a "dirty RMTer....just like McCarthyism.
I only know about what I've read about P99....but I'm reading the negative stuff from reliable users on this site.
It just gets confusing since I've chatted with several folks who say the GM's are supportive.
I guess I will have to see for myself.
I'm just hoping that players remain on P99 who I can join up with to group once I level up , since I am sure most of the folks interested in P99 have a passion for Classic EQ like I do.

Only time will tell. If you like what you are seeing, just stick with it and enjoy. I personally have overkill time going on in live EQ right now and outside playing some LoL, my time is committed there between actually playing and the various coding projects I'm trying to do. Just post up some of your interactions in the public section titled P2002 as you have good or bad and see who else you draw out with you. :)

Rusty...that's a good point. Since P2002 is only a year old, I like the idea of getting on a server in it's infancy and to be around as it grows. I was told the economy is still growing.
And only recently did one player finally max out Alchemy and Jewelry making. So the server is very young, but growing.
Since P2002 stops at POP...from what I've read and from my own experience , EQ started declining with all the expansions that followed POP....I did love a lot of the zones that POP offered.
Plane of Nightmare...I think Bastion of Thunder was another zone and Plane of Storms and I loved Plane of Fire.
I fell behind in the game due to RL job /family and I was always several expansions behind the top end game. By the time I got to POP...you didn't need to be flagged. So I missed out on the POP progression. Now I can experience the POP progression.
I was kind of spoiled on live servers. Since I bought lots of plat and items going back 16 years on live servers ...I always played one toon at a time and i mainly played solo....so twinking allowed me to enjoy the game.
But I was spoiled. I enjoyed having über gear at low levels ...BUT now I'm gonna play P2002 as EQ was meant to.
Since RMT doesn't exist on it.
I'm gonna do quests and Tradeskills and farm my own plat.
I did feel my biggest accomplishment was when I completed my Epic 1.0 on my Druid on Cazic server. I felt proud to carry a weapon I earned. Instead of weapon I purchased.
So I'm gonna play P2002 without RMT and I think I will enjoy the game more. Since I earn everything I will have.
I will post my experiences on P2002 here. In case the server ends of being great and maybe others would give it a try.
I am fairly new to RG, but I love this site. So I will give feedback on here , as I play P2002, and maybe others might give it a try.
POP was really a great expansion.
You can 3-box max on P2002,..I think it's beneficial so if I can't find a group and I'm doing quests, etc...I will have my group of 3.
Maybe no RMT on P2002 will be a good thing.
RMT can lead to farmers hogging up certain camps and spawns 24/7.
It's probably happening on Phinigel and Ragefire.
So I will live in Norrath with modesty.
I'm looking forward to it.
And I will keep this site up to date on P2002....hey, with all the complaints about P99 , maybe P2002 could be the next big thing :)
