My warrior does something kinda annoying. He goes out to pull, runs back to the start spot, then as the mob approaches he runs out to greet it. Over time he gets progressively further from camp. At some point the casters stop assisting. In a tight spot like Sathir's Tomb that can be problematic because of adds.

I currently use Sic's ini but it has happened with other inis, leading me to believe it might be mq2melee related. But let's start with the ini. Is that the culprit or is it something else?

I'm not speaking from experience, but from the kissassist wiki here https://www.redguides.com/docs/projects/kissassist/#pull-settings

"The following settings and explanation only applies if UseMQ2Melee ini entry is turned off and during Combat.

  1. To keep the MA/Tank from darting/jumping out to meet the mob. Set MeleeDistance and CampRadius to the same Value. This will tell Kiss to skip any /moveto commands.
  2. To keep any melee characters (Melee0n=1) from moving. Set the StickHow ini entry to "I". That's a capital "i" for Ignore."

@Ordell what do you have for these values
I think if you set returntocamp=1 then they will not migrate.
and campradius will ensure they do not go out too far to engage (I think)

INI:
CampRadius=40
ReturnToCamp=1

I had a lot of issues trying to get my warrior to stay in a tight camp. After trying a bunch of things the best solution was to buy MQ2WAR.

Set your MeleeDistance=60 on your warrior
and MeleeDistance=55 on your assisting group
and CampRadius=60

When you start kissassist on the tank start it with the tank directly in front of the group. this is where he will return to when he engages.

I saw that happen as well with one of my builds at one time. @cannonballdex got it.
